I'm not caffeinated enough and I need to get D3 working in WINE without
getting my account banned. ;)

LOL, yep, me too (well, perhaps not to the soup sandwich stage - great
phrase BTW, it's a new one for me) - except I'd rather /not/ be. The side
effects of chronic pain meds (with some anti-anxiety meds thrown in when
needed) and I'm rather 'detached from reality' and have trouble thinking
straight.

The irony of the situation is that I've been a recreational drug user most
of my life and, before my injury etc., would have loved to get like this.
However, as I've discovered, the difference between then and now is that
then I had plenty of 'straight' time in between getting off my tits.

Now I'd *love* some straight time - if it didn't come with pain so bad I'm
essentially bedridden (and jumpy as a frog with a contract out on it - in a
french kitchen - when the anx kicks in). :(

Cheers,

Man that sucks :(

My only 'drug' of choice is alcohol. Well, that and enough caffeine
daily to choke a blue whale. ;)

It does indeed suck. My memory suffers the most - and I used to have an
almost eidetic memory so you can imagine how much I notice it. :-/ Fook, I
even forgot to pick up my meds yesterday. I rang up and said I'd be there in
about an hour, could they make up my script.... Then forgot until 7pm! I
need to go in now, my back's settled enough so I can drive and I've taken my
saved 'spare' meds. Only 10 days worth of restricted meds are dispensed at a
time - by law. I've asked what I'm supposed to do in a disaster (I have my
gas stove, bottled water, tinned and dried food etc. as the govt. keeps
telling us we need to do but what about my meds?). Nobody seems to be able
to answer that question. :(

Also, I've given up all rec drugs (including alcohol - other than a bottle
of cheapish port at Xmas, maybe b'day as well - finances allowing) as well
as cigarettes. I smoked from 14 y/o to 46 y/o, about two packs a day. Guess
what my doc said at my last appointment? Four cups of coffee (the cheapest
instant I can buy) a day is too much, I need to cut down to one or two!

When does a life become merely an existence? I have to bite my tongue when I
get asked "How's life?". I don't want to become *that* guy..... <sigh>

LOL, WTF huh? Happy hunting. I've only been logging into D3 to tend auctions
this last week - have been playing PoE a bit instead. Got a lvl 21
Ranger.....

And thinking of punting. For a suicide squeeze.

That is definitely annoying! :( I don't know what would happen in that
sort of situation!

Sod that! I drink five or six mugs a day of the stuff! I find ground
lasts longer than instant if you've got a coffee maker, though :)

I haven't logged into either D3 or PoE lately - just because I haven't
booted into Windows in like... a week. LOL!

I actually bought it up with the younger of the pharmacists at my dispensary
and she said that, as far as she knows there's no provision for the
situation. She then said I'd probably best to make sure that I'm in the
first wave of looters at the pharmacy! (I said 'Yeah, with my back.... and I
had to relinquish my firearms licence a few years back when I couldn't
afford the $200+ to get it renewed'.) So, no result on that front - I'll
have to try to ration myself for a while, stock-pile a couple weeks worth if
I can.

I've got this neat little ~1970s Italian-made home espresso machine (made in
the days when such a thing was very uncommon) that I picked up a couple
years back for $5. A steam pipe had split but I had a mate who replaced that
for me. It's a bit gutless, you have to be patient to get your cuppa (and
even more patient if you want to foam some milk!).

I used it for a while but finally parked it in the back room - for two
reasons. Firstly I couldn't stand at it 'working it' for as long as it
needed a lot of the time (and not a great idea to walk away from when your
short-term memory's shot). Secondly there's the price of good coffee. It was
costing me ~10x as much per cup than budget instant does. :(

Anyway, I'm not going to significantly reduce my (already moderate) coffee
intake. I may think twice about the odd cup but I've got to have a few
things in my life that give me pleasure - no matter how mild.
