Question on Blade Fury: Does the weapon have to be a claw type weapon?
Trying to build a Trapper and guessing at the best equipment for her (not
that I have any of it... but I can dream.)

No, although your attack rating with the blades is based on your weapon attack
rating (they do *not* automatically hit). Since Claw Mastery gives you both a
boost to AR and a chance for critical strike, your probably best off using
claws and investing some points in claw mastery.
Anything with Ignore Target's Defence makes a useful weapon for a BF assassin,
reducing the need for claw mastery.
My current, act IV normal level BF assassin has been using The Chieftan on a
weapon swap, for the extra damage.

It's like this:
[sfx:]
tippy-toe, tippy-toe, tippy-toe
*WHANG*
tippy-toe, tippy-toe, tippy-toe
[/sfx]
And at least sledgehammers aren't all shiny, like swords are.

Does anybody remember the times when whirlwind barbs could use the
slowest polearms without any speed penalties, and were the uberkillers
of all?
If the same now applies to BF assassains, we will soon see PKers and
duelists all run around as BF assys, equipped with Grandfathers or
similar stuff.

Ah, Information. A good, too valuable theses days, to give it away, just
so, at no cost.
In normal, you won't notice that you're missing. But, by the middle of
nightmare/beginning of hell, you will.
I have a 1.09 asassin that had one point in blade fury. She's level 70,
alternating between Act II hell and Act V nightmare (depending on how cash-
poor she is). In hell, I use a malice-d Greater Talon, low/moderate damage,
but Ignores Target Defence (and prevent monster heal). She hits more
consistently with that than with her weapon swap (a wrist-sword with enhanced
dmg: higher damage, no PMH, no ITD).
Normal with a BF assassin is a *cake walk*.

The damage is halved is Blade Fury is used with two-handed weapons.
3/4 of the remaining half is applied by Blade Fury. I'm fairly sure
that this goes for Buriza, too. So, no, it's not a good choice --
especially since piercing doesn't work with BF.

Anander, Lvl 67 Bijou-necro with not much more than a rogue, a fire
golem, a choice selection of few minions, some fashion accessories and a
bit of underwear (playing single, of course).
LassStarFighter, my HC Ladder Blade Fury Assassin, just became a Guardian
last night at level 83. I'm also still using a Malice claw (regular
Suwayyah). It's not actually ITD at first, but with -100 Def/hit it gets
there eventually. I saw another Assassin using a Shadow Killer...looked
pretty nice.
One other benefit of Blade Fury that I didn't see mentioned was that nothing
seems to affect its speed. You don't need to put points in Burst of Speed
because your Blades are already as fast as they're going to get. Instead,
you can sink a bunch of points into Fade. I've heard a lot of complaints
about the Gloams in the Worldstone Keep, but with level 20+ Fade they didn't
hurt me too badly. I came back into the game solo to scavenge a bit after
everyone left, and I got some direct lightning hits without taking too much
damage. Fade also gives you 1% Damage Reduction/level in addition to
resists.

Yep. I've been pumping fade rather than BoS anyway, but I don't have it
anywhere near level 20. The only downside to fade is that it treats shrines as
"curses" and so reduces their effectiveness. By level 10 or so, the shrine
effect will disappear within 20-30 paces of the shrine.
I decided that I'd leave the shrines for other players and keep fade going.
