Go back to the room with the pedestal. The first stone is in this room.
Maybe you already picked it up so just walk over and activate the pedestal
again. The first time I did this quest I had the same problem. I never
saw the stone on the floor in the room with the pedestal, but I must have
picked it up because the next time I went to the pedestal it opened up one
of the other rooms. It took me a while of looking before I decided to go
back and check out the pedestal again. Once you have put the first stone on
the pedestal a room will open up. You will find the second stone there.
Take it to the pedestal as well. Then another room will open up and you can
retrieve the third stone. Once all three are on the pedestal, the room to
the armor will be revealed to you.

I am playing the single player version of Diablo and am up to level 10. I
have been looking for the bloodstones to help me get Arkaine's Valour ever
since level 5. On level 5 I found the Book of Blood that added Valor to my
Quest log but couldn't find the bloodstones in either the room with the
Pedestal or the book. I have since searched all of levels 1-9 and still
can't find them. Does anyone have any suggestions where they are?

thanks in advance

In response to my original message Celleste suggested that I might have
already picked up the stone. Thanks for your suggestion, but I have already
tried this. I definitely don't have the stone in my inventory either. Has
anyone else got any further suggestions?

If you haven't got the stone in your inventory, and it isn't still lying on
the floor in front of the pedestal, you may have picked it up and not
realized it before you hit the pedestal the first time. Look to the left of
the pedestal on your map and see if there is a door opened on the outside
of the big room (actually, several rooms, but it is one big shape in the
middle, you know the area I'm talking about). If this door isn't open, you
apparently have run into a fluke or a bug. An idea to try (don't know if it
will work, but it is worth a try) is to cast an infravision on the left
side of the room and see if you can see the stone in there. If you can, you
might be able to get it using telekenesis. If you take that to the
pedestal, the room on the right should open.
