Ah if only more of my fellow Gun Dogs could experience the joys of MP gaming
in OFP: Resistance. BF1942 don't got crap on OFP except for joining a game
in progress. Other then that OFP is like DF1 on super steroids. At least
many of the other old school DF players have joined the OFP ranks, like good
ol' Damorfasu and NedFox! They can vouch for the hardcore action. Nothing
like assaulting with the regs with the BAS Rangers and Delta addons for OFP
and going in under heavy fire on a MH-6 Little Bird... with one of the
players actually flying the Little Bird and taking us in between buildings
and trees to land on a rooftop or on some city street to rescue hostages and
then to see the beautiful sight of a MH-47 Special Ops Chinook coming in to
pull your ass out of the frying pan as enemy troops close in and with the
door gunner providing suppressive fire with his minigun.
Just the other night we had a great nighttime assault that was beautiful
with heavy firefights and A10's strafing the ridglines along with AI armor
support moving in with our infantry in a true combined arms assault. It
would have made Gunny proud to see our boys providing overwatch as our lines
leap-frogged and took the ridgelines!
The DF series and BF1942 are good for highspeed quick and dirty action, but
for a superly immersive battlefield experience, OFP is really hard to beat.
But hopefully I'll get a little extra $$ to buy BHD and BF1942 to join the
rest of my squaddies and the other DF regs again. But for those of you with
DSL lines, I hope seriously consider OFP. Now they sell the entire pack
(which includes the Resistance expansion pack) for around $19 I believe.

to those Old Skool out therer who remember No Tracers,
Gunny's World and them kinda vibes - OFP HAS IT ALL!!

you'll find a fantastic selection
of maps + 8Mb!
So it was also a slate to all the OFP County Crew
who moan about not having places to play and yet dont
seem to wanna play at TJ's. And they consider themselves
HD/CR! LOL!
I know many of you DFers are hooked by the latest game,
I havent tried it yet but will look into it - but what's
your MP action like?
All I can say to you is OFP is still caning it and will continue!
Currently we have a VietNam unofficial expansion pack
which is phenominal and basically set the baseline for mods!
So, if that was excellent (and it was) it's also old!
The standard was reset by the BAS addons, and TJ does
stuff for them so that should tell you the quality!
Rangers and D-Boys are OUTSTANDING!!! SEALs in the pipeline (ouch!)
and twigs in the helmet flava! Snow, Sand or Bush BDU options!!
There's a Malvinas/Falklands mod in production! With the most
amazing Harrier available to us, quite brilliant, and HMS Hermes
aircraft carrier! The Falklands MOD is eagerly awaited!
There's a World War One MOD being developed!! How kool is that?
The World War Two expansion is looking quite breathtaking!!
And I dont just mean skins on soldiers, my dear amigos!!
Oh no!! I mean panthers and tigers and shermans and churchills
and P-51's and FW190's and Rangers and Fallschirmjeagers and all
the rest of the WW2 era!!! SPECTACULAR!!!!
Someone is developing a HORSE you can ride into battle!!!
We have blood effects like Sam Peckinpah would have shed tears for!!!!
I cannot stop telling you about OFP!!

You know me. I like to kill or be killed and
I smile in the same way whichever the outcome.
You know TJ. He likes it HD/CR but he's also

of the non-compatible expansion packs. one or two isn't so bad, but when
there are so many out there... It's hard to keep up. Then once I get an
addon loaded, people only use it for a week or two then move on. I guess
what I'm getting at, is I can't keep up with trendy downloads and the like.
I got into DF because it was so simple to find people and play with the same
group of people daily. With OFP people change skins so much I just find
myself sticking to the regular OFP or the OFPR, and those aren't compatible
with most servers out there.
once I get settled into my house up here, I'll try my hand at a few servers
again...

Vietnam pack (sebnam) and the bas-addons. When you have those, you can play
almost all missions.
Some addons we try out once in a while, and they stay when the missions and
weapons are good. We're not putting extra addons every week onto the
server....
BtW, the FTP-server has everything you need on one place : all game-updates,
the addons, and the tools.

you'll get M14's, M16A1's, grease guns, the old thumpers, mortars, M60's,
Stoner machine guns (for the SEALs), M21 sniper rifles, you name it. That
and some awesome Jungle Warfare against some hardcore VC and NVA await those
that buy OFP and the Resistance expansion pack. :)
That's just for starters. You haven't played a MP game until you play one
where some of your team mates are providing air cover with OV-10 Broncos and
Huey Hog gunships.

implements his Reverse Slope tactics he loves so much!!
And as I've said, there's a Korean War mod being developed,
loads of WW2 Mods, a WW1 mod, some fantastic new islands
such as Chechnya and some invcredible looking metropolis'
I can see you becoming a master at making missions what with
all your tactical knowledge etc! And it's soooooo simple to
make missions, with cutscene intro's, cam effects, everything!
Again, as Chris said, I think you can get the whole OFP+Resistance
in a $19 bundle!
There's one mission I KNOW you'd LOVE!!! One where you as a Wesley
have to go assasinate a Ruskie General!! One of the first missions
to come out - sadly I cant find it at the moment - Avon Lady, do you
remember this mission I'm talking about? I remember you loved it too.

And there's a Wesley training mission, set up just like the
Qualification Testing, I'd love to watch you do that one!!

Oh - and here's a question - Did the 'cartoon style' of GasCan and the
others in DF3 last? Is it still the cartoon style or is DF more realistic

I grabbed the nostaligia pack. Everytime
I load any of the mission, I get a "cannot
load mission screen", click ok and the mish
loads ands plays ok. Dunno why, just thought
I'd let you know.
