As for how to spec - opinions vary - keeping slash skill high raises
your minimum
damage while the corresponding pole/2-handed raises the max damage possible.

Small comment on polearms; I play a midgard warrior, level 43, and use a
one hander and shield. I went toe to toe with a red armsmen, and he hit
me for over 500. I expected that, though. What I didn't expect was that
he hit me again, for another 500, pretty fast. My one hander didn't seem
noticably faster than his halberd, and we exchanged hits one for one, for
the whole two swing duration of the fight.
Is there some high end speed buff in Albion? Or high level halberds that
aren't so slow? In either case, that might be worth considering when
making your choice.

Just a note, there are a lot of Polearms that are the same speed or
less than some 2-hand weapons. I recently have been leveling a
thrusting 2-hand-using Armsman. Rapiers (1-hand pierce) have a speed
of 3.8. Pikes (thrusting Polearm) have a speed of 3.8. War Mattocks
(2-hand thrusting) have a speed ranging from 3.7 to 4.0.
And you have no better chance to parry with a 2-handed weapon than you
do with a Polearm.

He may have had a Theurg buff on him. The highest level Theurg haste
buff gives a 39% increase in speed, from what I remember.
Also, what race is your Warrior? If Troll, that would explain it right
there :) They have crappy weapon speed, due to a naturally low
quickness. The Armsman may have been a Briton, buffed with Enhanced
buffs. I know I walk around with a Quickness of around 110, which
shaves off 0.8 seconds from my swing time. Maybe he was buffed
similarly.
Ah, maybe not the highest, but he was probably buffed with a spell in
that line. I've pretty much stayed entirely in Midgard with DAOC, so I
don't know these things :)

Kobold. My base quickness is 80, and over 130, from various items.
.
>Which one is better for armsman ?
For pure damage output there is no substitute: Polearm. No other melee
weapon in the entire game in any realm hits as hard.
>And how do you skill an armsman with two handed weapon ?
Train your base damage type (Slash/Crush/Thrust) and your Polearm skill. (Or
two-handed skill if you go that route)
