How does one open "magically locked doors"? I think I've explored the entire
dungeon, but for this one door, and the quest-object is behind it. I've
tried "open", bashing, etc. and got no effect.

An "Open" spell is the correct method, though it doesn't usually work
on the first try. Having an enchanted item, like "Shoes of Undeniable
Access" is very handy, because you can just keep trying until it
works. Some magically locked doors can be opened by levers, wheels or
torches, though they are not always close to the door that they open.
If there is a torch near the door, try clicking it. It doesn't often
work, but it might.

Actually one thing i have done is this. When picking the lock fails I usually
use an object or cast a spell that locks the door. Then I cast an open spell,
actually I usually use an object of undeniable access. Usually makes it
pickable or openable. I often run around the dungeon in steal mode, so I run
into this situation fairly often.
