Got your message regarding my font and html...
I am wondering what my font must look like to you because on my computer it
says I am using Arial 10 which is the default font and available on most
computers...
I am also on AOL any time I write a message with a link in it, AOL
automatically changes it to a hyper text, unfortunatly I know of no way to stop
it.
I want to make my posts readable for all but don't exactly know what to do to
correct the problem you are seeing..
If you have any idea please let me know

No, i haven't exactly started up a new one.
It's actually been on the net since before C3. Roughly 2 years now.
Since links change so quickly I thought that providing email addresses for the
cob creators would be the best way to go on my web site.
About a month ago I did receive email from two of the cob creators. They said
my web site made them a target for mass email and spam, after receiving that
message I quickly removed all of the email addresses. I do not want to be
reponsible for giving anyone an email headache.
However now some of the web pages of the cob creators no longer exist so people
can not find their valued C2 material by searching for their sites.
So since I can't list email addresses and there are no longer web pages for
alot of creators I honestly have no idea on how to provide the materials
aware-abouts to YOU, the community.
Therefore the C2 cob project will probably be terminated.
I have zip disks of almost every cob that was out before C3. People write to me
asking for them frequently. Unfortunatly, I almost always decline to do so.
The problems with emailing cobs is that
I can't possibly keep up with requests,
the files are way to large to be emailed and i'm not completely sure of the
legalities of doing it....
If i do have a web site for the cob or an email address for it's creator that's
what they usually get as an emailed responce.
I love the creatures games especially C2 and I would love to help all the
community members but i'm not about to get my nornian butt sued off for a
etiquette mistake.
I made one of those a few years back as a newby player and I go out of my way
to do everything possible not to have it happen again.

As for the emails I can understand. A few people in the community have been
telling me how if you announce your working on something you often get
spammed until you finish it, and once something is released you get spammed
for help on it or requests to vary it or make something else. And then
there is the 5% of people who sign you up for mass mailing lists (the kind
that doesn't email a request). Somehow I was subcribed to a couple of mass
marketing and porn lists by someone who knows my address (and that could be
anyone) but luckily I control my email server and just added those addresses
to the "never ever accept mail from these people" list.
If you think there is any way I can help let me know, school is starting
back up tomorrow after a fortnight of holidays so I am expecting to be busy
since I didn't do any of my homework over the holidays (I played DS instead
:) but I'll see what I can do :)

But like I said:
I don't know the legalities in doing what you propose, tread lightly in this
area, when it comes to copyright material it is better to know ahead of time.
Before attempting to do any of this, I would suggest getting written permission
from some of the creators, (all of them would be best) and check with a lawyer
friend if you or your family should have one.
It is definatly something you DO NOT
want to be sued over. Yeah it's great to help out community members, but don't
stick your own neck out far enough to get it chopped off :)

You definitely don't want to do this without permission from the creators of
these cobs. Some creators are *very* protective of their work, and
understandably so, as cobbing and breed creation have a rather steep learning
curve and take a lot of time. (And you'd be amazed at how fast people who
don't answer e-mails come out of the woodwork when their stuff gets posted
without permission<g>.)
What you might try is e-mailing Jaywalker to see if you could take over Where's
the Cob. It's been a wonderful resource for the community for a long time, but
I'm sure that it's rather time-consuming. Many creators have left the
community and their pages have disappeared with them, and other abandonned
pages have been lost with so many hosts either going bankrupt or converting to
pay sites. Many people who *are* still active have had to move their sites
more than once due to the hosting problem. So be forewarned that it would be
quite a project.
