And so as I depart from the great steeples of the ivory tower that is
higher education, I immediately look around this scary world and
realize that I want nothing more than to climb to the highest alcove
and cease to do anything relevant in my life... cause the real world
is scary.

So, anybody know any good graduate schools outside the US? I'm
inclined to branch out to other lands, and this group reaches far
beyond the hegemony of the US, and is well educated. Any suggestions?
I'm in the biological sciences, with Immunology as a preferred field
(and a secret love of cognitive science that only agc knows about).

Cheers
Jc

Congratulations are in order then :)

Hmm, fancy visiting the UK? Weather-wise we mainly have rain to offer but
there are some top notch Universities here ;)

Oh, I don't know how much I really trust university websites or
rankings or the like. Sometimes, I stumble across a program with a
very insightful website that differentiates its program from others,
but mostly it seems that the programs are pretty much the same just
looking at their websites. It's not my plan to mail every university
from that google search for more information detailing their program.
Nonetheless, I do at least have a few more to check out now. I
remembered that a fair number of people here graduated or went to some
good foreign schools, so I thought I should at least ask.

Sounds like what my sister is doing (she studies biochemistry, master
and had an awfully thick and heavy book about immunology last semester).

Check out <www.vu.nl>! Their computer AI is also pretty good as far as I
can see. I studied there for a couple of years (but couldn't finish it
because of some irrelevant issues).

Maybe you should mail me at t.j.boschloo/at/hccnet/dot/nl and I will
give you her e-mail address so you could ask some questions yourself. I
think she would enjoy that :-)

The 'Vrije Universiteit' is a nice small university with lots of
teacher/student time. There also is a kind of campus called
'Uilenstede', but that is also rented to non-students these days. And
Amsterdam is a great city with a great night life of course!

Regards,
Thomas

Ee, Australia! Come study in Sydney ^_^ (That's where I live, whoo.)

I dunno, our unis aren't particularly prestigious or anything, but IMO
Sydney is brilliant. Lots of good restaurants ^^;
