So I'm cleaning up all my bind files and making them as regular and
consistent as I can across my alts, and I was experimenting with the bind
that puts a "Wait" or "Typing" bubble over your head while you're banging
out a chat message.

Is there any way to force beginchat to pop you into the chat entry window
without a visible character? Or does everyone that uses it just
automatically hit backspace when they use it? (Sounds like a job for...

Basic bind is this, in case you don't know it:

/bind numpadenter "afk Wait... typing.$$beginchat ."

That makes "Wait... typing." appear in an AFK bubble until you hit any
movement key, Esc or Return, and puts you in the chat-entry line with the
text "." beginning the line. I'd like to get rid of that "." or any other
char if I can... is there a "nonbreaking space" equivalent in chat text?

Shen, I don't know why you need the dots in there.

I -think- mine is just: /bind enter "afk Typing$$startchat"

Well you could try using a color code instead.

Just checked my old binds and i'd set up enter as my colored beginchat.
ENTER "beginchat <border #66cc66><color #cc0099><bgcolor #ffffff00>"

I have no idea if you can splice in a color code the way you're doing
it, but it's probably worth a look.
