Hi,

I am sure I remember reading somewhere that certain clubs are attached
to the regen players? IE Worksop Town (made up name) get a large
number of regen players in CM 01/02.

Is this true and which clubs are these?

Many Thanks

Patrick

If you get far enough into the game you can look at the international sides
and see that half the squad started playing for the same non-league side.
Only happens occationally though, but it is a shortcut taken by the game to
make sure the general amount of top quality players remains roughly even.

Braintree were a proper little talent factory in a game I played with a mate

a while ago. All their players were absolute stars!

i see.

well the best "rise through the ranks" ive seen in cm was a player
called alex middleton. now this must have been one of those few and
far between games where a player with a 0 for potential in the
database was given 185+ when the game started. he isnt a regen but he
started off at harrogate railway, then after a year went to juventus
(do they even know where harrogate is?) then after a season in the
reserves moved to roma and became their midfield lynchpin for 11
seasons!

not really related to this but just a little tangent about a player
who started off at a shitty little club who became the best in the
game.

havent seen it happen since.

I'll second that, specially with Guiseley - some top quality players of mine
have come from this great and illusrious club! lol

Alfreton, Guiseley, Braintree and one other (possibly the aforementioned
Lancaster) in England get heaps of good regens, bu most countries have a few
of their own. I always keep an eye on Capri and Castel di tini Calcio (sp?)
in Italy...

Of the "miracle at" fame? No, sadly not. There's half a dozen clubs in Italy
that start with the name Castel - all I recall is that the word Calcio is in
their name as well...

almost all of them have "Calcio" as this magic word means "Football"

Indeed it does, and quite a few do. Almost all? I think not - at least not
if you do a search by club name in CM.

Anyhow, the club in question is the only one which contains both the words,
Castel and Calcio, and can generally be counted on to provide a number of
Italian national players during the course of the game, despite never
emerging from the lower divisions.

CM does not reflect full club names, if so you would see the words!

In all the games I've played Alfreton Town produce at least 2-3 superb
youngsters a season. Don't know if they are regens, but it wouldn't surprise
me. I play CM 00/01 though so maybe its different to 01/02.
