I am just a newcomer on the net...and found this newsgroup of my all time
favourite game. U can say that i am really addicted. I played 30 seasons CM1
, 56 seasons CM2 and 38 seasons CM 97/98. I am hopefully waiting for CM3.
If u play CM 97/98 and u start the game, buy these players. Some of them are
really young and cheap, but they become very big

play attacking soccer with three strikers

I Agree. The only good (cheap) strikers are Robbie Earnshaw (50000 pound)
and Dennis Schulp(1 million pound!)

What about Metin Aydin? At the start of the game, he's with a non-league club,
costs 5000 pounds, but always makes it into the Dutch squad, and scores like a
madman... He is quite young, and his value rises to about 10m.

"Direct" style.
The Wing-Backs are ML and MR (ML on left MR on right).
It works very, very well away from home. I managed to get my team (Swindon
Town) Div1 Champions during the first season using this tactic (If you look
at Swindon you'll see how crap they are). This was using the latest update.
My strikers scored 20-something each and my FC scored 18 and had LOTS of
assists.
