Blood 2 (not as good as expected)

I knew a friend had the demo and so I tried it and loved it. I was hooked. My
one complaint was that the graphics were not that great. I was like: make it
look like quake and play like blood, and you have a game that I will worship.
then I heard about Blood 2 and was like YES!!!!!! But the thing is (about
blood 2)...it looks like quake, but does not play like blood!!!!!!!!
hell and spit-fire gentlemen, I am depressed!!!!!
Please let there be someone out there who has played it that can reassure
me...please.....

I think it may be too soon to judge; the Monolith guys say that most of the
level is the creepy gothic zombie and quirky doom and humor of the original,
but that the levels they happened to select for the demo were high tech
levels that were unlke some of the others.
What specific details can you go into on your comment "it looks like
quake, but does not play like blood!!!!!!!!"? Was it the opponents,
the atmosphere, the levels, what?
I also love the original blood; I hope this game will be more like
that in terms of "style". However, I quite like the high tech demo
levels just fine; I never played quake or quake 2 because i didn't like
them; so I haven't grown bored with high tech 3d shooters. I think
that blood 2 will come through in the end. I certainly love the demo.
