89000 is the max for all characters. 161000 if you get the TOSC
expansion.

You can find a copy of the levels for the different classes as laid out
in BG's Manual on pg. 140 or thereabouts. Check the CONTENTS PAGE for your
Manual's Tables Page.
The Table is Table 3a-d. Also, the experience max (cap) is written by
the game's programmers to be 89,000 for Baldur's Gate.

Warriors:
Level 7 (Fighter) maxed at 89 past 64, to reach 125,000 for Level 8
Level 7 (Paladin/Ranger) maxed at 89 past 75, to reach 150,000 for Level 8
Rogues:
Level 8 (Thief/Bard) maxed at 89 past 70, to reach 110,000 for Level 9
Priests:
Level 7 (Cleric) maxed at 89 past 55, to reach 110,000 for Level 8
Level 8 (Druid) maxed at 89 past 60, to reach 90,000 for Level 9
Wizards:
Level 7 (Wizard) maxed at 89 past 60, to reach 90,000 for Level 8

If you install Tales of the Sword Coast you'll have
a cap of 161,000 I believe.
Tales involves new monsters, items, quests and maps.
It's worth every penny. =)

level, no matter how many monstrosities i whack...is that normal, or is my
