Someone asked how to steal the telescope and not having done it i suggested
using potions to increase thieving ability, now that i've encountered the
quest, here's a better solution.

1. enter the hall of wonders with your thief, unlock the display case, take
the telescope and immediately hide in the shadows, then run for it.
2. enter with a mage, cast knock on the display case, take the telescope and
immediately cast invisible on yourself and run for it, or just take your
time and walk out:-)
I'd have replied to the original thread but there's just tooooo many

It's funny, I just entered during the night without knowing that there was
quest about this telescope. But I talk to this other thief who offers to
coporate with you. Then I stole the telescope and left without any problems.
My whole party was present during this, and nothing happened.
