I play Daleckh , a Paladin. I always love playing the goody 2 shoes, that
and the fact it makes a good spin that the bastard son of a god of murder is
something so completely opposite.
Cthon Jaar is my NE wizardslayer lv8 d/c cleric - i invented him with the
idea that he was a wizardslayer cos he enjoyed beating up the mages to get
at their treasures, but found faith when he escaped the torture of Irenicus'
dungeon

I play Avilan, a Male Cavalier. First time in my life I play A paladin. Oh
and basically for the same reason as you. Besides I think the normal Fighter
is boring and I dont like the kits for it.
I also finished the game last week with Faeryn, a Male Half Elf Stalker
(CG). He was less fun to play than I thought (mainly because I didnt dare to
use his extreme stealth skills since there could be traps anywhere).
/S
His character is based losely on my Dead Oasis (Live Roleplay) Deathwarder
(think undead hunter)

Phoebe, a half-elven ranger. Phoebe is my second daughter's name. ;)
Also, I've played around with a LG Dwarven Fighter/Cleric - Bregan and a CG
Elven Archer named Telanis, but these haven't got much of anywhere.
My character Quinn is a NG kensai dualled to mage, dual wielding two
katanas. Kensai really appealed to me because of the "master of swords"
thing which I found really cool. I had also never used a dual class before
so the mage was an obvious choice.
Next time going to play a monk, which will be fun!!!
gez.
>Ok just a poll.........what class character did you play and why did you
>pick it? and what's his/her name?
I have restarted a couple of times. I had difficulty deciding on a
character initially. But now I`m playing a CG Monk by the name of
Roshin (comes from "Roshi" which loosely means "old master"). It`s one
of my old online nicks. Roshin enjoys "walking the earth", getting
drunk on foreign beer and kicking the sheeyt out of his enemies.
When I have finished the game with this character, I will try again
with a Kensai, Skald or Jester. Or possibly an evil Cleric... Argh.
Decisions, decisions...

I am playing a fighter dualed to a thief, mainly because I didn't like the
choice of thieves when I played through the first half of the game.
> and what's his/her name?
Severian, after a character in a Gene Wolfe novel. It was a hard choice between
Severian and Chicken Head. (It's hard to get upset when a character named
Chicken Head dies. :-)
Cool, cool

Weird... I had the same character for a while. Severian, I mean, not Chicken
Head. 8-)
A F/T was kinda an obvious choice, considering the cloack he was supposed to
wear...
Too bad I didn't find Terminus Est (2Hsword +4, 18 STR req) or the Claw
(Raise Dead/Sunray 3 times a day)

HEY! What's wrong with Chicken Head? :-)

I thought so too.

Maybe next time. And maybe they'll call one of the thief kits "Torturer".
Cool, cool

Stubbs a Halfling Swashbuckler CG
and
Hackus a Human WizardSlayer LE
I enjoy playing the Good Swashbuckler's Character more but the Evil Human's
group got Viconia!!! in it so its a toss up which is the most fun overall.
I went swashbuckler, for the whole dual wield flash git type thing
(art imitating life, I guess ;-)). She's specialised in hiding in
shadows and disarming traps, meaning she can scout ahead, clear the
level of traps and get a fix on the enemy, before we all get our dose
of invis 10' radius and then march in and assume fighting positions.
Being completely useless on names, I went with Volundra, since my male
characters are normally called Volund (a blacksmith, and a character
in an old myth/folk tale I've got kicking about somewhere). Next time
I'm considering a monk or perhaps a beastmaster (yup, sounds a weird
choice, but I think I want to check out the less popular kits. I'm
desperately trying to avoid creating a kensai dual wielding katanas
;-)).

I just finihsed the game last week with Hyperion an Elf Stalker - really
enjoyed it... and to get around the traps stealth issue make sure you have a
coupel of Find traps spells memorised... worked like a charm for me.
Right now, I'm just finishing BG1 using a gnome Illusionist/Thief named Boff
the Bearded.
Stats: Str10, Dex18, Con12, Int17, Wis14, Cha 19
He's chaotic good, but I play him more to the chaotic neutral side. With
his high charisma, I fancy him a smooth tongue, with a quick hand. His
illusion spells (blindness, mirror image), charm spells (esp. charm person
w. Algernon's cloak) and stealth of 100% make him an excellent frontman for
waltzing into someone's house, chatting it up with them, and then robbing
them blind while they're charmed and happy to oblige!
Hehe, a charismatic gnome, with their big noses? ;-). Still, I'm
thinking of a gnomish cleric/illusionist (I've got a good one from BG1
somewhere - 20 in wisdom and intelligence) in a later run through of
BG2. Nice to see people roleplaying their characters though - after
all, I just can't really picture a gnome under the effect of Tenser's
Transformation ;-)
I played a pure Fighter, which I carried on into BG2. I think he's Lawful
Good.
Basically chose him for his weapon specialisation (I'm a crossbow fiend)
and high hit point potential.
His name is Golvelluis.
I'm playing a Monk called Caine, and I can imagine I'm not the only
one :) For the others, the name comes from the old 'Kung Fu' TV
series, featuring David Carradine, and I've got the bitmaps to match.
The reason I chose Monk is that I want to give the new classes a try
first, and from its description I reckoned it'd be a safe bet.
My second/evil campaign will feature an Arachnaia, Elf Sorceress, and
the upcoming online campaign I'll be playing a Halfling Assassin by the
name of Garadoc 'Gary' Copperhead (the name not only refers to his hair
color, but is also a type of rattlesnake - poison, you know).
Next, I need to convert Princess Bee, my BG1 solo Bard to a Jester, and
see her through -- the Jester seems the most fun of all the Bard kits
because of its mermaid-like enchantment magic. Then I should try out
the new Barbarian class ('Conan' will be tempting, of course :), and
then... and then...
It'd be easier to create a multiplayer game and try the new stuff all
out at once, but the NPC interaction is too much fun to miss out on. A
pity they didn't include an NPC of each class (and with some more dual-
class potential).

Before you buy.
Whoops, should be Golvellius
I took the opposite route, a chaotic evil, half-elf, fighter/mage. Goes by
the name of Kharon Tanaris. He has chosen to embrace his heritage and has
come to Faerun to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And kill Jaheira in every
most horrible way imaginable only to have her ressurected and do it all over
again.
I played a good character the first time through and did all the side
quests, but now that I'm evil I can tell all the snivelling wretches who
come to me with their problems to 'bugger ye off' and concentrate on
becoming the biggest bad-ass ever there was, because. And also I started
the game in multiplayer so he can have his slave with him, a succubus mage.
Pretty cool! But tell me, what is a succubus mage like? Race?
Sub-Class? Attributes? (hmm... I can guess some of those)? Take part
in the action or just a luggage toter? Details, I needs details!!!
Thanks.

Cool, how much bubblegum you got left :-)
I'm gonna play an evil kensai/mage weilding (sp?) ONE katana, dressed all in
black and named Vader.
I'll probably go for my cleric / blade d/c character next. His name
is Maladree Rasthaven and he is a fanatical follower of Oghma with
an overzealous intensity and a penchant for womanizing. Too bad
the game won't allow multiple romances...
Or I might bring back my Dwarven fighter cleric Dunkan Khzander from
BG1. Decisions, decisions...
John Glindeman
There is a hack for the scripts that will allow for all three romances
at once, but I'm not sure where it is anymore.
