BG2: What items can (should) I bring with my party to TOB??

I'm about ready to embark on Chap 7 and am wondering what items I can
transfer to TOB. I believe that everything carried by my party (equipped
and in inventory) transfers to TOB, but what about the enormous collection
of high-end items in my stash at the Copper Coronet. Does this stuff also
come some way or should I choose what I want to keep and sell the rest?
Also, I've now got about 120,000 gp saved; I assume this will make it across
to TOB.

Am I going to have access to Athkatla in TOB? If not, should I buy all the
high-end items from the Ribald and the bonus-disk merchants that I think I
might need (and also have Cromwell whip up a few more items for me)?
Alternatively, should I hang onto my gp's for even better stuff in TOB?

Thanks for any info.

Once you get to TOB, the ONLY place you can go back to is Watchers Keep.
Before I moved on from SAA to TOB I moved my huge stash of leftover stuff
to WK dungeon bookshelves. BTW, all your leftover gold should be spent
cause you'll lose it all in WK somewhere.

What?!? I kept all *my* gold when transferring from SOA to TOB. Where in
WK did you lose your gold?

To the original poster, you'll have access to a whole slew of new, nifty
weapons when you get to TOB, but you may as well keep the best of what
you have since some of the TOB uber-weapons aren't available until near
the end. Also, some of your SOA weapons (Carsomyr, Flail of Ages) are
upgradeable in TOB, so hang on to those.

Allen's suggestion above to transfer stuff to WK is a good one, I never
thought of that! I just carried (or put in the Bag of Holding)
everything I thought I'd want. That was plenty, as it turned out.

One thing I *wouldn't* bring a lot of is missles. Most of the missles
you used in SOA are either unnecessary or underpowered in TOB.

You can, but don't necessarily, lose all your gold in the wild magic rooms.
Its one of the wild surge effects. But since its random, I wouldn't worry
about it. Not to mention its easy enough to gain back.

I believe its the 3rd level of Watchers Keep, one of the wild magic rooms,
where most of your party gold disappears.

BTW of all the crap I moved to WK before going to TOB, I don't think I
used hardly any of it. When I finished TOB I had tons of gear leftover.
BTW, in TOB after you get to the Pocket Plane there are 3 boxes there
where gear can be stored. This is much better than WK cause you can
always get to the pocket plane anytime you want.

That's only if you cast a spell there, and only if you haven't
downloaded the fixpack to correct the bug.

[snip]

I've got the Baldurdash 261 fixpack, but have not installed it. I only dled
it a couple of days ago and, since I wasn't having any problems (that I know
about), haven't really gotten around to installing it yet (also have the
text fixpack). In the opinion of those who have already played thru BG2 and
TOB, should I apply these two fixes now, wait til I finish BG2,....or leave
well enough alone (i.e., can these fixes introduce new problems)? Thanks.

...if you happen to be quite unlucky. It's never happened to me.

Hang on to your gold. You'll need it. The upgrades in ToB cost a /lot/
(40,000 gold for a combination of items you're likely to have with you
as soon as you enter ToB).
