BG1 Bandit scalps

I have just finished chapter one, and between Beregost and Nashkel, I
collected some Bandit scalps.
Any ideas as to what I can do with them, as noone seems to want them!
Thanks for any advice.

PS For some reason I think the bartender in Fedelpost's inn buys them too,

It's been a long time since I played BG1, but I believe some officer want
them as a bounty. you will have to find that officer first though.

After completion of the Nashkel mines (and only after completion)
several encounters will spawn in Beregost and the surrounding area.
One of them is a flaming fist officer who will give you gold in return
for each bandit scalp.
