In the westernmost Cloakwood area. You'll find him in the area before
you pass the river bridge.

Neutral Evil B(ast)ard, no exceptional stats, but one exceptional
skill: He can create 5 arrows of biting every time he's slept for
eight hours. Only Eldoth himself can use these arrows, but you
can sell any surplus arrows for a fair bit of money too.
He's probably the most selfish evil character in the whole game,
and the way he treats Skie is just horrible. I like him!
As there's only two bards in the game, you may want to have him
on your team. Remember that bards go one level further than mages,
and because of this will cast stronger spells than the mages can.
They're also excellent at pick-pocketing and identifying items.
With a bard in the party, you don't need to worry about identifying
objects.
The description of Eldoth says:
Eldoth Kron is a highly skilled poet and singer as well as a schemer
and manipulator. Originally from the island kingdom of Ruathym, he
left at an early age to the city of Waterdeep. The natural affinity to
song and poetry that he exhibited in his homeland was honed to
perfection while at the big city. He trained at the musical college of
New Olamn using money that he borrowed over time from his many lovers.
Eldoth became quite good at using women for his pleasure and monetary
needs and then discarding them in favor of the next thrill. His skill
with music was mirrored by his increasing talent in the manipulation of
others emotions. Eventually his overconfidence became his undoing; he
decided to try and win Aleena Palidinstar's heart. Aleena is the
youthful daughter of Piergeiron, lord of the city of Waterdeep. When
Piergeiron discovered that a manipulative dilettante was using his
daughter he became quite furious. Eldoth fled the city and hit the
road, deciding it was time to use his bardic skills elsewhere. His
current companion is a young woman named Skie. For now, he is
genuinely attracted to her, but that will probably not last for long.

Whether a character stays or leaves depends on happiness.
This is caused by several factors:
* NPC's alignment vs. party reputation
* Special quests being completed
* Team members who they're attached to
* Main character's charisma and alignment
* How busy they're kept.

RCV: Also, doesn't Eldoth leave if you don't take Skye into the party? Are they not another team, like
Jaheria/Khalid, etc..? Rich
Ok, I left Skie in a house in BG- he didn't complain at that time and that
works for Minsc and Dynaheir

He was the leader himself - CHA 18 with cloak of charisma

No problem

However, he said something like "I can't take this madness" ( I don't remember
the exact phrase) when he left. I have Shar Teel, Monty, Edwin and Tiax in the
party. Is Tiax the problem? They are both evil, but...

No, no. That won't help. The party leader controls the reaction
adjustment for NPC's you meet along the way. The main character, i.e.
YOU, is what influences internal party affairs.

I doubt so. I know some characters have an instant dislike for each
other, but then you would most definitely hear about it before one
party member leaves.

Ok, I see, thanks, main characters charisma is 9 - not to good - but not
terrible
