He'll have to fight for it. Have a chat to Gorpel Hind in the Helm and
Cloak.

If Paladins were wise they would be fighters.
Wisdom does help with resistance to magic spells like 'confusion',
'horror', [maybe 'charm' ?] - spells that affect the mind. How
significant that is for a Paladin is up to you :-)

does the paladin use his wisdom for his spellcasting abilities that he will
gain at a certain level.....it would make sence as a holy spellcasting
warrior would use the clerical sphere of magic, so it should work like an
cleric with high wisdom depenndence...right?

Wisdom is important for casting clerical spells. Which he'll attain at
higher levels.

That seems to make some sense but as far as I know it isn't implemented
that way. BG seems to assume that once you have the minimum wisdom
requirement for the character [13] you have enough for all the spell
casting needs of the Paladin.
As far as I have seen, the only effect of further Wisdom increases is in
the resistance
to spells that all characters get.
I must say though that I'm no Paladin specialist. Perhaps the class
aficionados out there can enlighten us :-)
