Can't kill him. He takes unlimited hp damage and is immune to all
spells. As soon as he shows up, he casts imprisonment. His spell even
penetrates magic resistance. In fact, when he showed up, I went back
into the underground. His imprisonment spell went off, but it didnt
work because I was in a different zone, but now every zone I go into,
Malchor shows up. He just sits there in the zone with me and doesnt do
anything. You cannot talk to him, you cannot kill him, he is
invincible, and you cannot rest either. There must be some way to keep
Drizzt's gear.

That must be seriously irritating.

I'm bothered enough at the fact that the enemy *always* saves vs. my
hold person/monster spells, but my characters *never* save vs. the
enemies' hold spells, which usually ends with me reloading and starting
the battle over (hard to fight when all six characters are Confused or
Held and the like).

I doubt they took heat from Salvatore.

Heh. :-)

I just wish that the weapon availability would match up with the kind of
creatures I'm facing. I'm rather sick and tired of seeing "Weapon has no
effect" messages while using +2 and +3 weapons, never mind running into
50-odd hit point orcs and getting xp for 1 HD monsters.

Yeah, talk about the royal cheese treatment! Only decent scimitars in

the whole game are his, and we can't use them. Can't hack them, can't
cheat them, can't even defend yourself from the guy who comes to take
them away from you. I wonder if Bioware took heat from Salvatore for

letting people kill Drizzt and steal his stuff, or if they just thought

it'd be funny for everyone who did swipe them to get their toys taken
away after they actually managed to beat him and his friends(nice
reward for all you evil players out there, huh?).
Makes me think of the old Ultima games, where in the first ones you
could kill Lord British, and how he changed that in later games because
it hurt his ego. I still chuckle to think that someone found a program
bug in UO that let them kill him one more time. >:)
