"You can't do that in hyperspace."
My strategy was this...
Have the sweet air spells at the ready as well as protection from magic
cast on your most powerful warrior. Make sure they are using +1 or
better weapons and have them lay into the first Rak. on teh ground
floor. Whwen you get the chance, cast a few animal spells to keep the
others busy. I also had a ranger launching +2 and fire arrows.
Eventually you'll get the first one dead. Have everyone retreat out the
building; they won't follow. Sleep off the wounds, and head back in.
Once the first one is dead, the others are a piece of cake since they
don't cast many spells.
Good luck.
I'm still not sure how I managed to kill them, but somehow I did. Minsc was
dual wielding two axes (gave him a proficiency there), one of which is a
plus three axe that does cold damage, the other a plus two. My character, a
monk, wielded a plus two sword long sword. I'm pretty sure those were the
only weapons that physically hit them. The rest of my party was Anomen,
Jahiera, Aerie, and Cernd (I know, can you believe we defeated them?). I
fortunately had two of the cleric spells, Zone of Clear Air, memorized. My
first spell failed. Second attempt worked, which was a really good thing
because my party was dying. Everyone drank some of those extra healing
potions, which helped, as well. I don't think I cast one offensive spell
at any of those guys which got off any damage. So I tried all the defensive
spell magic: haste, bless, protection from evil ten foot radius (GREAT
spell), etc. All of my clerical characters were kept very busy with healing
spells to back up my two fighters. Eventually they were dead. Those
raksasa deal out a tremendous amount of phyiscal damage when fighting as
well, so be ready with as many healing spells as possible. I tried using
some plus two bullets on them, and I'm pretty sure they didn't work, so it
may very well take a plus three weapon or higher to hit them. This was a
nasty fight. Hope this helps and good luck.

I seem to recall that rakshasas are completely immune to all spells
level 1 through 8 (!), and that you need +2 or higher weapons to
damage them. Tough hombres.

Cast Silence 15' radius on your lead fighters. Then just charge. The
rakshashas have very good magic resistance. They also have dozens of
spells, incl. Cloudkills, which they cast at their own feet, confident it
won't hurt them. But if a silenced character enters melee with them, they
won't be able to cast their spells either. And since the way to take them
down is to simply hammer on them with your best (+2 needed, I
think) magical weapons, if they cast no spells they will eventually
fall. They are tough in melee as well, But not that tough.
Generally, you have to hoard your magic from one battle to the next. The
enemy has no reason to, and will let loose with everything they
got. Anything that prevents them from casting will be better than any
spell you can cast yourself.
