North of Gnoll Stronghold

Hello all,

I checked for other messages for help on this, but they weren't available on
my server anymnore...

I'm kinda frustrated about the area North of the Gnoll Stronghold. There is
a Bridge with 2 Orges and 2 Orc (goblin maybe?) archers guarding it.
Everytime I come close, I get gibbed good and hard. I'm looking for some
advice on how to get these guys good.

Any suggestions? I have some guys with bows and some Arrows of peirceing.
Also a some spells left: Command, sleep, charm person, entangle and a wand
of magic missles. The Command, sleep and Charm person doesn't seem to work
(natch) and I'm pretty well hurt by the time entangle is gotten off.

Any help or ideas would be great!

Go to Nashkel festival and buy a necklace of missiles and blow their ass to
hell.
Well you should get a bow or a crossbow to every one who can use them.
Lings for the mages or clerics and that would make battle more easier

1)I believe they're standing pretty much in line. If you
hide a thief or ranger and slowly advance westwards to them,
you can take them out one at a time.
2)This one's a little less subtle: "snipe" the ogres, give
Misc a girdle of piercing, a large shield and good armor (to
atract the arrows of the hobgoblins which can poison you),
go berserk, and let your archer take the ugly bastards down.

Both are faster then spells, and entangle is rather useless
against the hobgoblin archers.

You can use magic. Charm works great: just charm the first one you
meet and let him take out the others. However, if you simply wish to
cross the bridge, you can also take the bridge in the south of this
area (across which only a mountain bear awaits you), or, I believe,
you can cross this river through shallow water in about the middle of
the area.

My usual tactic is to cross the river at the southern bridge. Then I can
'double back' to the northern bridge and sneak up on the ogres and
hobgoblins. IIRC, one of the ogres is on the bridge, so you can draw him
away from the others, then attack the others from the safety of the bridge -
the other ogre can't get to you because the hobgoblins are in the way, so
you can pepper him with arrows whilst hacking his friends to pieces with
your swords.
