I was wondering whether it was worthwhile to invest points in Imomem's
Detect Illusion ability. I've just finished off Irenicus in the Eleven city,
but up to now there's been nowhere where I've been told an illusion has been
detected.

THanks.

Detect illusion is very helpful when fighting opponents that cast spells
like Mislead, Mirror Image, Shadow door, etc...they're all illusion spells
and rendered useless if you can detect them. It saves a hell of a lot of
time not having to cast True Seeing so that my characters can attack the
miscreant!

You usually turn have her fighting or shooting arrows during battles,
not standing there with her Detect Traps ability on, neh?

I'm told that Detect Illusion works like a percentage chance of a True
Sight...but only if Detect Traps is on. A thief with 100% can cast
unlimited-on-demand True Sight, as long as you don't need her to do
something else.

How is it possible to increase Imoen's Detect Illusion ability?
She's a mage now and can't add points to her thief levels.

Detect Illusion is pretty useful if you have a thief and want to
break up Mirror Image, Mislead, etc. without wasting a True Sight
(perhaps because you want your cleric to cast a different
5th-level spell at the time).

It's all in the timing - Detect Illusion "fires" once a round,
and if you do it right you can detect the illusion and then
leap into melee in the same round
