I've got into the Gnoll Fortress and I know where to find Dynaheir, but...
How do I get the Gnolls I have killed to stay dead?
It takes a lot of effort to kill enough to get to Dynaheir, but when they
start coming to life again I've had it, I get really clobbered.

I don't know about them coming back to life but if you keep re-loading a
saved game in the same area then the game generates more bad guys. This was
deliberately put in by the game designers to discourage people from
re-loading saved games until you get through a fight without losing any
characters or energy.

Maybe thats what is happening with you.
After rescuing Dynaheir you may want to run away....you don't have to fight
and kill all the bad guys.

Cheers

It could also be because when you load a game, BG first clears the
temporary data files in order to avoid mixups between different games.
It's much simpler to let it clear that data and apply the defaults than
save it for each and every map and room you've visited.

Occam's razor should tell you which theory to believe. :-)

LOL, There was another thread going on Firewine dungeon, and someone gave some
great advice on controlling the kobold respawn. So I'm playing through a second
time, doing just what the dude sayeth, and everything is going GREAT. Yea yea
baby. Do not rest, do not reload, leave a guy where the kobolds respawn and
they won't. So my thief and a fighter are almost done with the place, perfect
run, not a single kobold has respawn.

Then my thief, my main character, fails to disarm a trap and is incinerated by
a lightning bolt. I must reload, and when I do, four kobolds commandos are
standing next to my fragile mage. I am paused, thinking about this. I have four
fights going on simultaneously in different parts of the dungeon with respawned
kobolds, but this one is the worst. What to do, what to do? This mage is a wus,
a couple of magic missile spells, and a couple of webs.

So he fires off a fireball from his wand, point blank, because he is surounded.
He saves, none of the kobalds do, or if they do, it doesn't matter (half
damage is still fatal). LOL.

So we decamped back to Beregost and got shitfaced drunk back at the Juggler.
"<burp> I need an ale." Ya got that right, Kaigan.

Yep, that does sound like a classic story to tell over a couple of beers!

I am in chapter 3 and i am trying to do the Gnoll fortress. One problem tho
is that Minsc keeps saying he is mad at my "inaction" and attacking me
whenever i sit idle for like 5 sec's or when i am busy fighting Gnolls. Am i
too late bringing Minsc to this plate, or is there anyway i can make Minsc
cooperate? Thx!

He usually says that when you run out of time to save Dynaheir. You can
check if you look on his information screen and his time with party is close
to 10 days...

I would go back to a save game before he starts attacking, remove him from your
party and leave him there. Go rescue Dynaheir and come back and pick him up.
If you have a full party you will have to choose who to fire.
