Magical Axes???

Are there magical axes in baldurs gate? I want to start as a dwarf with
classic dwarf weapons. I know there is a magical crossbow and magical bolts
but what about axes?

One of the best weopons in the game is an ax. You get it towards the
end though. But it is fantastic.

Yes, but the only one I found is in Durlags Tower. There is no magical
bouns to hit or damage, it just casts a miscast magic on a sucessful hit on
the opponent. Not much, but it's magical.

Goto the feldpost Inn in Beregost, he sells a battle axe +1 there, there is the
axe of dispelling (it casts miscast magic on spell users) in Durlags tower, and
the throwing axe of returning under candlekeep. In reality most of the good
axes don't come till later on in the game.

In the city of Baldur's Gate, in one of the inns, you'll get
confronted with a group of Mauletar warriors, one of whom carries the
Battleaxe of Mauletar, a very good axe. I don't remember which inn
exactly: probably the Cloak and Helmet.

There are four good axes in the game:

Battle Axe +1 - sold in Feldepost's inn, Beregost.

Battle Axe +2 "The Axe of Mauletar" - in the barroom brawl (which you
have to win) in Baldur's Gate, Helm&Cloak inn.

Throwing axe +2, returns to wielder when thrown - in the catacombs
under Candlekeep, on Prat the adventurer. Probably the coolest axe in
the whole game.

Battle axe, Miscast Magic - not magical in any way (except that maybe it
doesn't break like normal weapons do), but if used on a spellcaster, it
affects him with Miscast Magic spell (look it up in the manual). Found in
Durlag's Tower (somewhere...I'm yet to get TOSC)
