Hello,

I finished BG with a Paladin character bout 4 months ago and after buying
"Tales of the Sword Coast" i thought i would replay BG again with a new
character.
I remember my Paladin being on level 5 or 6 when i finished it all and heard
that's about the maximum level in BG for a player character (maybe upto
level 7).
Anyway, i restarted playing this time with a Dwarven Fighter/Cleric and it
is great fun.
Now the Question, what would the maximum level for each class of my
character be??? both classes on level 6 or 7?? or is the cap on the total
experience, thus it would be a maximum of a level 3/4 fighter/cleric???

Any response would be appreciated...

Till later..

George

As you know, the exp cap in TOSC is at 161,000.

For multi-class characters this means 161,000 / 2 = 80,500
(double-class)
or 161,000 / 3 = 53,667 (triple-class).

Dual-classes are somewhere in between... You can take two
approaches:
- maximize the starting class while still reaching a higher
level
in the final class (e.g. a 7/8 Fighter/Mage = 64,000 +
90,000)
- maximize the final class while going as high as possible
in the starting class (e.g. a 5/9 Fighter Mage = 16,000 +
135,000)
(IMHO, the 2nd approach is more worthwile in TOSC.)

Look at the xp tables to determine what level this gets
each class to.

Regards,

James

Hi,

In TotSC, the xp-cap has been raised to 161.000 xp (in total, per
character). So a Fi/Cl could arrive at 80.500 xp in each of his/her classes.
If you look at the experience tables in the manual (TotSC), you'll see that
with that amount of xp, you'll be level 7 in both classes.
(BTW, if like me you do not enjoy this xp-limit, there *are* ways to remove
it...)

Rens.
