Hi all, sorry for this off topic post but I want some opinions about this
game. I've finished BG1, ToTSC, BG2 and ToB, Icewind Dale, Planescape
Torment....so I'm looking for another RPG to play. I recently started
Fallout 2 and Arcanum...but for some reason I couldn't really get into it,
and I've heard that Pool of Radiance isn't all that great. I've played both
Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, Nox, Summoner... and quite enjoyed them for some
time, so I guess I don't mind action RPG's either. However, I have never
played any games in the Wizardry series, Eye of The Beholder or any of those
types of games...so I'm wondering what these games are like. Does it have
any similiarities to BG at all? In particular, Wizardy 8 has had some nice
reviews...but what are the main differences between this game and some of
the games that I've mentioned above?

If your looking for some good RPG's to play, pick up the old Gold Box
series. Those game are classic. The only downside is printing out 50 pages
of journal entries per game.

Wiz8 has received near unanimous raves everywhere and is now
dominating the comp.sys.ibm.pg.games.rpg newsgroup (sans the idiotic
IT SUCKS vs. IT ROCKS!!! flame wars, thank goodness) like BG2 did when
it came out.

I haven't played it yet (have to upgrade my video card to play
all these new-fangled rpg's coming out) but gathered it is a very
nice-looking and nice-sounding old-timer's rpg, with a first-party
viewpoint -- likely the main difference between it and all the other
rpg's you've enjoyed playing.

It is also made by the team that made the Jagged Alliance games,
which I have often compared favorably to the BG series due to their
intense tactical gameplay and fun npc interactions.

So to sum up: I'm pretty sure you'd like Wiz8 if you like BG2.
Now, is my check on its way, Sirtech? Oh, wait, you're out of
business, damn...
