Tried older PC AI scripts and found them lacking? Here are the 59 reasons the
SuperScripts for BG 2 are far better and will allow you to enjoy the game far
more.
59 Reasons why my SuperScripts for BG 2 are better than the g-series, e-series,
GBscripts and the Uscript.
1 Everything in my scripts works. All the others are loaded with snippets that
don't work at all and parts of them don't work as the makers think they work.
Many have snippets they know don't work and are blanked out with //. Why would
they include things they know won't work? They all tried to backstab but all
fail to do so and the forced backstabing doesn't work at all. In the case of
gbscripts it kinda works but you need to use a hotkey and it can attack your
own PC's with it so that is really not good.
2 The advanced targeting used in the g/e-series scripts is flawed beyond repair
and doesn't work the way the makers think it should at all. The use of
secondnearestenemyoftype to tenth doesn't work the trigger is broken and they
are fooling themselves thinking it is doing anything at all. It always
defaults to simply nearestenemyoftype every time. And the targeting priority
thing used by the g/e-series is not working as well if at all as the creators
think and is in fact counter productive. The threat level assessment is a
complete waste of time and not helping at all. A better method would be to
include more immunity item checks as I do in my scripts it is far more
effective and productive in real game play.
3 Cast n attack doesn't work most 99% of the time. For it to work at all you
have to use either melf's minute meteors or energy blades for the very high
fire rate of 10 and nothing but magic missile or spells with a 1 casting time.
Most of the time it just ends up being cast one spell then attack the rest of
the fight so it in essence becomes cast one spell then fight for the rest of
combat every time. It is flawed beyond repair and should not be used plus
these scripts all jam, stall and stutter the game many times simply because of
the cast n attack they use. Also it is clearly cheating and any script that
resorts to cheating to work is not an efficient PC character script my scripts
never cheat in any way shape or form they don't need to. Yet players can use
my scripts even on insane level of play and never need to take manual actions
for most fights at all. With these other scripts you need to be ready to step
in all the time since they can't handle combat that well at all. For low, mid
and even some high level fights you can leave your computer and go to the
bathroom or go to the kitchen using my scripts no one would dare do that with
these other scripts. Also most of the time these other scripts are really using
just an action timer like I use and they are not aware of it they call it a
spell timer and they are not casting n attacking at all. They just think they
are and have wasted a ton of space in their scripts for something that doesn't
work at all.
4 They also use hasitem in places rather than hasitemequipt or
hasitemequiptreal as they should use and because of this cause more problems.
I never use hasitem no real scripter ever would. No BG 2 script should ever
use hasitem it is a no go period. Your game will jam, stall and stutter if you
use hasitem in BG 2 and your game will slow to a crawl in stores when buying
stuff if you use hasitem. Some even know this and only use hasitem in a few
places it should never be used in BG 2 at all.
5 My scripts heal you far faster and more efficiently than the others do you
will die more often with the with those other scripts period. Testing in the
game proves this time and again. And my methods to ensure you don't waste
healing spells work without canceling all healing completely the methods used
by these other scripts overly restrict healing to the point of getting you
killed a lot. Most healing via these other scripts happens after the battle no
matter how hurt you are and that leads to your PC's dying far more often than
my scripts would allow. And if you don't get killed with those other scripts
you won't heal fully either and won't heal when in combat when you need to.
The other scripts do not use the spells greater restoration at all they don't
use mass raise dead at all and they don't use mass heal, heal and cure disease
to max and proper effect. None can raise the dead or unstone PC's like my
scripts can at all.
6 My scripts use more spells and items than the other scripts. The other
scripts don't use every item and spell that can be scripted. I do use every
item and spell that can be scripted. I use dozens of spells and items that
these other lesser scripts don't use. I could count on one hand the spells I
don't script and on the other hand the items I don't script none of the other
scripts could say that. And the ones I don't script generally have no
scripting value or are cursed.
7 My scripts remove traps by a hotkey none of the others can do that at all.
8 My scripts open locks by a hotkey none of the others can do that at all.
9 My scripts loot the battle field by a hotkey of everything worth taking for
plot, selling or using. None of the other scripts do that at all.
10 My scripts buff up with more spells preparing you better and it buffs you up
in the proper order of longest lasting spells to shorter ones the g/e-series
doesn't care about spell order in buffing up and uses pathetic short duration
spells first and only uses 3 spells to buff up and its buff up routine is a
mess. The other scripts don't even have buffing up hotkeys a feature that most
players want and use quite often. Lack of proper buffing up by hotkeys or lack
of a hotkey to do so at all makes these other scripts unusable to most players
and a pain in real game play.
11 My scripts uses autocasting on more spells and take the tediousness out of
playing the game though autocasting and buffing up hotkeys. The others
autocast only a few spells if at all and don't autocast many spells that can
and should be autocast.
12 My scripts have more hotkeys to use for more situations and are far more
flexible and logical in the use and scripting of hotkeys and their actions. I
have 3 various buff up keys depending on the length of time that the spells in
it last, an invisible buff up key, a lay traps key, an item use key for scrolls
and potions, a summon key, a magic protection key, an information key, an
intelligence boost key to help mages and bards increase intelligence, a wisdom
boost key. a friends key to increase charisma for stores, and an unsummon key
to get rid of your summons when leaving an area for another area. All total I
use 14 various logical and useful hotkeys and include a hotkey list for the
player to print out to have as they play the game to remind them of what they
do.
The g/e-series uses only 3 hotkeys that matter at all (it has a few more that
no one uses) and doesn't include a hotkey list to print out. It uses a few
more useless and wasted hotkeys that no one in their right mind would ever use
all of mine are all practical and useful.
The uscript and the gbscripts include some really useless hotkeys like turning
off the AI something you can do with the lantern and no one ever uses (or
should need in a good PC script anyway) those hotkeys.
The e/g-series even uses hotkeys to try to remember what you memorized in a
complex set of convolutions no one can remember for your spell triggers etc.
that is totally useless and a pain. Also these silly scripts also make you
repeat hotkeys several times in some cases to get anything done a waste of time
if there ever was one. They even use hotkeys to hide/unhide you GUI a silly
action you can do with your mouse already or with the existing hotkey the game
has for that.
13 My scripts use spells these others can't script stone to flesh, greater
restoration, resurrection, raise dead, mass raise dead, magic stone, cure
disease, spell trigger, spell sequencer, chain contingency, contingency, minor
spell sequencer and more. They claim many spells are unscriptable that can be
scripted. The g-series even scripts a spell that doesn't exist called cure
blind deaf how stupid is that?
14 My scripts includes the corrected spells to script innate's and class
spells, dectable spells, improved creature files and creature scripts for
summons and spell 50 all in the same single download. Without those the others
don't work at all for corrected spells and you have to download several
downloads to make them work. With mine you only need one download and one
install with these others your need multiple downloads and multiple installs to
get even close to the level of sophistication of my scripts and even then you
would still fall short.
15 My scripts include more summons and summons scripts than all the others
including a script for your familiar and more. None of these other scripts
make summon scripts for every possible summon you can have and some even use a
clunky change AI on summons you don't have to do so on. That is only needed
for the clones you make the others should have a real script assigned as I do.
The others also don't know that all summons/minions are either gender summoned,
gender summoned demon, gender illusionary, gender neither or gender both and
that is what affects the summoning limit and how you treat them and so on. GB
scripts use a change AI which stalls the game every time but he doesn't check
all the possible genders of summoned/gated help either so he still misses doing
it to all the summons. Further the various other scripts don't script the
summons to max effect and skip many spells that these various summons have
available to them and do not use them to max effect even on the ones they do
make scripts for.
16 My scripting methods work and no part of it is flawed like the others are.
The others use crappie targeting that fails to work since they often depends on
secondnearestenemyoftype etc. a thing that doesn't work at all and has been
proven to not work by many not just me. All second to tenth nearestenemyoftype
all default back to simply nearestenemyoftype the makers of these other scripts
don't know that and think that works when it does not.
17 Cast n attack used by the others is flawed you all know this everyone knows
this. It fails to work more often than it works and causes major problems in
game play. And its cheating when it actually does work anyway something my
scripts never do.
18 My scripts use more immunity item checks so they only cast spells and use
items when they are effective. The other scripts don't use enough immunity
item checks and depend on inaccurate class, general etc. targeting to do
anything and don't really know who is vulnerable to what spell. My scripts
know who will be hurt by what spell to a far more accurate degree than these
other scripts every time. My scripts never cast a spell that could not
possible have an effect on an enemy all these other scripts will do that many
times.
19 None of these other scripts use or even know what magicdammageresistance is
or when its needed to be used I use it correctly. Many spells do magic damage
and this check is needed to see if the target can be damaged by those spells.
Failure to check for magicdammageresistance will result in you using spells
that can't affect the enemy many times when you should not be doing so.
20 And far more things are better in my use of timers and globals than these
other scripts my use of them is logical as is the ordering of them and checking
by them for similar spell often these other scripts stack spells that do the
same thing because they should be using the same timer but they are not. Often
the order of spells in these other scripts is actually least effective spell to
most effective. My scripts always use most effective spells first.
21 the g/e-series is dead you can't even find either one on the net anymore.
The gbscripts can only be found in one place and the uscript can only be found
in one place. My scripts are in multiple places on the net including in
different languages and will be uploaded to many more places.
22 I don't need a performance saver that is for bad scripters who should
correct the problems in there scripts and then they wouldn't need them. Also a
performance saver is only needed for advanced targeting and Advanced targeting
doesn't work because you can't use secondnearestenemyoftype etc. because those
triggers are broke so why bother and cast n attack is pure garbage it rarely
works and its cheating my scripts don't cheat and no one wants it because it
jams stalls and stutters scripts and your entire game. Some inexperienced
scripters claim I need a so called performance saver they are wrong for 1 I
don't use a so called advanced targeting system and 2 I put my non combat
actions at the end of my script not the beginning and 3 I did try one and you
know what it made no difference at all because of methods used my scripts they
are smoother than the inferior scripts that need a so called performance saver.
Such a thing would a waste of space in my scripts.
23 I don't need to check if the enemy mage is a wyvern or a slime and the other
miss classed monsters because I include corrected creature files that make it
so that those mis classed monsters now have the correct class making such a
check not needed the other scripts need to make those checks because the easier
and better method I use isn't used by them. This method also shortens my
scripts and makes them smoother and more efficient.
24 I script many items the others can't script the dispel magic for the swords
that have them and all similar weapons with spells and items with multiple
spells attached. They don't know how to do such things I do and as a result I
script a ton more items than the other scripts. None of these other scripts
can script the spell effects that weapons have or the items with multiple spell
effects at all.
25 I don't use incrementglobal and globalLT for items with multiple uses
because one of them is broken and I repeat snippets for such items my method
works the incrementglobal method does not work at all period end of story. The
makers of those scripts think that is working but testing proves it is not and
they didn't test their scripts out enough.
26 All my summons scripts are better than these others and work as a team with
my scripts. I also have made them for all the summons none of those other
scripts did all the summons they all skip a few.
27 I have 19 smaller scripts based on my superscript testbed one for each
class, dual and multi class the e/g-series has only a few scripts and it is
nowhere near as complete. GBscripts has only a few and not a full 19 either and
the uscript is one script that is supposed to do it all but does not do it all.
So I have a far more complete set of scripts for each possible class, dual and
multi you can have and that will lessen the delay when loading a saved game
using my scripts. For these other scripts you have to either use a script not
made specifically for you class, dual or multi or use a multi that tries to do
it all and is overly large when it need not be so for your class.
28 I have my clerics constantly turn when not in combat to get the drop on
undead none of the others do that. And my thieves constantly find traps and my
bards constantly sing. I use a delay on these so that the action is not
repeated over and over again causing an annoying scrolling as well.
29 I don't switch between hiding and finding traps like the others do because
it is unproductive and serves no valid purpose at all You can't backstab unless
you are close to and behind the enemy to begin with so the switching between
hiding and finding traps when you are very far away from the enemy is silly and
its annoying as a result my scripts find traps and hidden doors faster.
30 None gather the party or summons together as well as my scripts do for
combat and they don't act as a group as well. They try to act as a group but
fail to do so. They also allow friendly fire because of errors or poor ranges
for area effect spells that can effect the party I eliminate that much better.
31 I have a separate hotkey for long buff ups medium buff ups and short buff
ups the others don't gbscripts and the uscript don't have buff ups at all the
g/e-series has one bad 3 spell buff up and they even buffs up with spells of so
short a duration like bless that it is not worth buffing up with at all. When
a more productive buffing up would use the longer duration spells first and of
course use more than only 3 spells to buff up with. When you buff up with my
scripts you can buff up using many spells and items and you will be able to
buff up with many long duration spells in effect when you face the enemy. You
simply can't do that with these other scripts.
32 the others sometimes script spells that would crash the game without the
scriptable spell corrections and don't include them in the download of those
scripts. I script them and include the corrected spells in the download thus I
don't screw my end users like the others do. No one wants to download and
install a script just to have it crash without the corrected scriptable spells
some of these other scripts will crash.
33 The others use dectable spells that are just plain and simple dumb and not
needed at all I use the ones that work and are needed for a PC script. I also
include them in my download so the end user doesn't have to go hunting for
them. You don't need a dectable spell for absolute immunity you can't cast it
on other party members just yourself and so what if the enemy uses it my
debuffing debuffs all enemy mages upon sight they all need it anyway.
34 All of them use debuffing of enemy spell casters in ways that doesn't work
as effectively as mine does and is just poor. Mine uses every state and stat
and also checks for created weapon items and debuffs all spell casters at least
once every 5 rounds and it is far more effective than any other routine used.
35 The others scripting of TOB spells and items and high-level abilities is not
logical and the other scripts either don't use them all or copied them from
each other and did not think things out in doing so. My scripts are new from
the beginning fully logical in spell order and designed with a specific plan
that all fits together in a logical manner to work as a whole the others do not
use a total plan and does not all fit together as a whole. The other scripts
just added spells wily nily and not with an overall plan of what order those
spells and items need to be in. The top down execution of scripts means this
planing is needed from the beginning and its implementation is central to any
successful script.
36 My script autocasts your chain contingency, contingency, spell trigger,
spell sequencer, goodberries, armor, ironskin, stoneskin, create bruiser mates,
minor spell sequencer and more to make sure you store these spells the other
scripts only do that for a few of those spells and for not of the sequencers,
contingencies or triggers at all.
37 My scripts use these spells in the game spell trigger, spell sequencer and
minor spell sequencer when stored as offensive spells because you don't need
them to buff up with because of my buff up hotkeys. The e-series uses a
complex set of useless hotkeys to simply try to know what kind of spells you
stored in them that no one understands or uses and doesn't even set them by
autocasting them in the first place. My method works his doesn't and is overly
complex and useless. The other scripts don't even try to use those spells at
all.
38 Because the e-series is just cobbled together from the g-series, gbscripts
and the uscript and even stole some of my ideas though he doesn't tell you that
doesn't have one author and it is not a total single concept but a mishmash of
unlinked and unrelated ideas. Mine have one author and one total concept and
everything is part of a whole package. The other scripts stole ideas both good
and bad from each other and it shows much of what they do is copy each others
mistakes and none of them checked out what really works in a script.
39 many ideas and scripting methods in these other scripts are outdated and do
not work. My scripts are newer and are not bogged down by old ideas and
methods that do not work. I did not bind myself to any dogma but used what
worked and threw away what didn't work.
40 None of these scripts use spells and items from most effective offensive
spell to least effective as do mine do they attempt in a foolish way to
conserve your most effective spells for later and because of that they get you
killed because you don't cast a spell that would kill the enemy when you could.
The very idea of saving your best for later is just silly and flawed and in
the end you end up using your mages and clerics as fighters with these other
scripts most of the time and not using them to their fullest potential. I use
each class, dual and multi class to its fullest potential all the time and
don't hold back their capabilities foolishly and therefor don't get my players
killed like the Other scripts do.
41 If anything is wrong with these other scripts there is no one to report it
to cirrick, sarky and rich martel are all gone and GB is nowhere to be seen
either. You can always report feedback to me for me to improve my scripts.
42 even if you could locate the makers of those other scripts to tell them
feedback they don't listen even when I have told them many times what they need
to fix they foolishly hold to bad, old and wrong ideas.
43 and even if they wanted to change things they choose not to the g-series
hasn't been updated in years neither has the uscript or gbscripts they are
years out of date and the e-series though updated more recently still has a lot
of ways to go but worse the e-series is now nowhere on the net at all so its
completely gone forever.
44 The use of resistance's, save checks and immunity item checks by these other
scripts is not logical or as well thought out as mine and not specific to each
spell as it should be.
45 I used a group of beta testers and fixed problems with my scripts before
releasing them these other scripts never did that and as a result they are of
poor quality.
46 I have a very large readme to explain how to use my scripts best the others
either don't have a readme or have a short one that is entirely inadequate.
47 I post tips of the day at my groups taken from my scripts to teach others
how they work the others are not posting to any scripting group at all.
48 I checked the inner workings of every spell, innate, class ability, item,
weapon and immunity item in the game with Near infinity so that I could script
them all properly and defend against them all properly. None of these other
scripts did that at all.
49 None of these other scripts understand that the various protection from evil
spells only protect you from evil and gender summoned_demons they think they
protect from all demons but they don't.
50 Even spells that these other scripts do use I script better like heal, cure
disease, free action, chaotic commands and more since they heal or prevent many
more things that these other scripters realize.
51 The other scripts don't automatically stop casting spells when in the dead
and wild magic areas of watchers keep my scripts do and know when you are in
those areas.
52 My scripts won't cast illusion spells if the enemy has cast true seeing or
any other illusion dection spell the other scripts will cast them anyway.
53 My scripts won't summon any summoned demon via a spell if the enemy is
protected from evil the other scripts will do so anyway.
54 My scripts won't summon ordinary summons if the enemy has cast death fog or
death spell and we have not dispelled the death fog via zone of sweet air.
Only the g/e-series even comes close to doing the same but still falls short
and gets it wrong anyway.
55 My scripts don't need to check if an enemy is a troll the item checks,
magic damage resistance checks and other checks used throughout my script in
every item and spell use knows what each enemy is vulnerable to far more
accurately. These other scripts failed to implement basic checks for immunity
items, resistance's and saves properly and as a result they implemented complex
routines to try to check if the enemy is a troll or whatever when they should
never have needed such a thing at all. In the end my scripts deal with trolls
far better than these other scripts and that goes for any enemy you face as
well.
56 I use the spells and scrolls for remove curse automatically if you have them
memorized if any PC has a cursed item equipped so you can remove the offending
item no other script does that.
57 though all these scripts mine and the others include and use various methods
to avoid friendly fire the methods used by me work while the methods used by
the g/e-series don't always work due to flaws in the targeting and all in the
g/e-series. My methods of avoiding friendly fire work theirs do not.
58 I include my .ids files with my download so that anyone looking at them can
see what I did to alter them and recompile them if they want to. The others
though they all use altered .ids files don't include them in the same single
download for the convenience of the end user like I do and it seems they are
trying to hide something. Also my .ids files are the most complete on the net
the others are outdated and skip a lot.
59 these other lessor scripts are monkey see monkey do scripts they copied from
each other and copied things that don't work from each other as well. One used
cast n attack suddenly they all had to use it too. One tried to force a
backstab suddenly they all had to use it too. And so on. None of them stopped
to test out if those things actually worked or were practical they just copied
them from each other in the end they made scripts that are loaded with junk
that doesn't work at all. I didn't copy from them and tested thoroughly
everything I use is my scripts to make sure everything I use works and works
well and doesn't screw up your script and game like those things do. I didn't
copy what others did simply because they were doing it too.
I could list even more reasons my scripts are better but the heart of the
matter is my scripts work better than the other scripts and my playtesters and
members all say so and that is what matters the most the end users of PC
scripts all love my scripts better than these other scripts.
