I have a kind of newbie question that I have not been able to find the
answer to at deja-news...
I am playing with Dynaheir in my party, and she has just reached the
level where she can memorize 2nd level spells. However, she has not
learned any spells beyond the 1st level. My question is, are there any
ways to add new spells to her book? Right now, I am just wondering
around looking for spell scrolls on random monsters/NPC's but not
having any luck. Are there any stores/churches that might have scrolls
for sale in Berengost/Nashkel (I am still in Chapter 3...)
Oh yeah, I am also trying to solve the whole Brage imbroglio, but can't
seem to find him anywhere....
Thanks for any help!

Thalantyr - the mage at high hedge on the screen immediately west
of Beregost, sells mage scrolls, among other magical items.

He's way off to the west near the coast - probably south of the
lighthouse but I forget precisely.

Yes, there are a few places you can find them. IIRC
wandering (random) monsters never carry scrolls and
hardly ever carry any magic at all, but if you poke
around dungeons etc. you can find a few there. The
mage at High Hedge will sell you scrolls, as will others
you might meet later.

He's a long way from Nashkel now - right over on the
west coast.

You know, a PhD should really have better things to do than play games
;-). Still, if you want spells for Dynaheir, you have three main
choices. First is High Hedge, west of Beregost, which is the best
magic emporium you'll find outside of BG city, selling most every
spell up to 3rd level. Second is on the bodies of dead opponents.
Naturally mages are more likely to carry spell scrolls, but if you
have TOTSC then the number of scrolls dropped by dead enemies
increases dramatically. Third is general wandering about. If you've
got a good thief (or a very strong character) then go pick some locks
and look in every barrel, bookcase and chest of drawers you can find.
And as a final word, remember that because Dynaheir is an invoker,
she's barred from learning conjuration/summoning and enchantment/charm
spells, but she can still cast them direct from the scroll.
Regarding Brage, look to the west and all shall be revealed. More
precisely, go to the coast on your map, and if you have gone directly
west from Nashkel (or go west from High Hedge, then head south), you
should find Brage on the map near a rather dishevelled looking
caravan. Brage will come to you if you go near the spot, so you won't
have to search high and low to find him on the map.

There are two red button at the top of the Mage Spellbook screen. Click on
right one and this will get you to the 2nd level spell screen.
