I couldn't find this in the google archives, so I dug charisma's
affect on store prices out with infinity explorer:

Charisma Cost reduction
15 or less 0%
16 5%
17 10%
18 15%
19 20%
20 or above 25%

On top of that you have Reputation Cost Adjustment:-

Percents given are the cost of the items (i.e. at 90% an item would cost you
90 GP instead of 100 GP).

1 & 2 - 1000% (or they will not sell)
3 - 200%
4 - 150%
5 - 140%
6 - 130%
7 & 8 - 120%
9 - 110%
10 - 14 - 100% (normal price)
15 - 95%
16 - 90%
17 - 85%
18 - 80%
19 - 75%
20 - 70%

So, it costs 14,000 to go from a 12 rep to a 18 rep, which nets you a
20% price discount, so you have to spend 70,000 gold to make it worth
it. Hey, not bad, I probably spent twice that much last game.

Which doesn't apply in the SharkPeople's shop, where I suspect the
reduction is something like cha*2. Often one will find that the Shark
priestess buys stuff for more than he sells it (which is obviously
an infinite cash bug, for those who can no longer be bothered to
loot corpses).

Remember it's the charisma of the *leader* (the guy in slot 1) of the
party that matters not the person who does the talking.

I just played practically a whole game with the Ring of Human Influence
on the 6th guy before I realised.
