just out of curiosity, what is the highest ability scores you guys (and
gals) have rolled? and how long did it take you to get these supreme
scores?

if you read my previous post, i had 89 total ability points, it took me
about seven minutes of constant rerolling and figuring out how high they
were... of course, dumb-ass here gets killed w/o saving :(

i am wondering if anyone has beat 89, i am sure of it, share with the
group...

Well one advantage of choosing a paladin as a character is that he/she will
get at least 17-18 charisma. Given this I came up with 99 in about 10-15
minutes??? I was blown away. It was something like 17/16/17/15/15/17 I
changed it so that my final stats were 18/21 St, and everything else 18
except intelligence which is 9. I wanted to get at least 18/50 St but with
almost all 18's I know it will be forever before I get stats like that
again. Needless to say my main character is a powerhouse. In dungeons she
is the default melee (if I only have 1 doing it) while everyone else is
range attacking (because she has best AC and most HP from 18 dex 18 con).
Funny enough that she is almost the best range attacker (in terms of THACO)
so that no matter what she will usually get the most hits/kills although
Minsc usually does the most melee damage. If I replay the game I may go for
a weaker character to provide more of a challenge (definitely a different
class - paladin seems to be one of the easier classes to play).

I spent over 1 1/2 hrs rolling my character because I would not settle for
less than 18/00 strength and still had to get 18's in several other
categories. Fighter, will change to mage after 5th level.

str, 18 dex, 18 con, 8 int, 17 wis, 17 cha thus being a 96 which took
me about a hour to roll, did not seem that long till i was done and
looked at the clock =)

Highest I've rolled is 96 total ability points.. Two of my other

18/00 18 18 12 13 18 95 total
I'm too ashamed to admit how long I spent sitting mindlessly clicking to get
there, though I swear I hit a strange zen-like state somewhere in the middle
of it:)

I got 97. Unfortunately I chose a bard :( Took about 15 minutes. Was
just about to keep decent stats when I rolled it.

I also rolled a Bard 97. Bards and Rangers seem to be the highest totaling
classes.

I got pretty lucky, actually. Since I'm very much the "hack n' slash" kind of
player, and don't give a hoot about my character's int, wis, and cha (this
being a crpg- get me into a face-to-face paper and pencil game where I can
actually role play and it does, however), it took me only about five minutes to
get an 18/00. I was only waiting for 18/91 or better, and didn't care about
the total sum of points (I allocated points each time to see what my
exceptional strength score would be), and imagine my surprise when, after about
the tenth time, I got 18/00.

Of course, my guy started at 18/00 strength, 18 dex, and 18 con, but he wasn't
exactly Mr. Personality- 9 int, 8 wis, and 8 cha.

Now though, after days of playing, re-playing, finding books, exporting,
re-starting, etc., he has an int of 25, a wis of 25, and books for cha and con,
so pretty soon, he'll be at 25 con and cha. Now all I have to do is find those
pesky books for strength and dex, but I'm thinking that might take all the fun
out of it...

How ironic that I'm actually thinking about using a trainer to lower my stats
now...
