I understand that there is a final bit to the Anomen family
drama--something about his father attacking Saerk (the guy they suspect
had A's sister killed). I'm in Chapter 6, and have done all the side
quests and am ready to tackle Bodhi, but this bit hasn't activated yet,
and I'm afraid it won't if I start the Bodhi stuff.

Does anyone know how to 'kick-start' this quest...a variable I can
change in Shadowkeeper, etc.?

Funny thing is, I think this quest tried to activate a couple of times
before, because once in Spellhold and once in the Underdark, Anomen
pipes up and says "Who's that coming toward us...I think I recognize
him." and no one appears and nothing else happens. I'm guessing it
didn't follow through because my party wasn't in a valid area for the
quest.

Anyway, any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

<snip>

Well, I've officially given up trying to get this quest to work. I
toodled around Athkatla, did the Bodhi quest, un-vampired Anomen and
toodled around some more with no luck. I even changed a global
variable tantilizingly named "Saerkplot" from 1 to 2, with no visible
results. Sigh.

Anyway, while I was toodling around Athkatla and hoping the quest
would kick in, I discovered some interesting stuff.

In the docks district, there is a side entrance I'd never noticed
before for the main Shadow Thieves building at x 4440 y 1060. The
walkway to this door also connects to the roof of Mae'var's Guild
house and provides a nice shortcut to Cromwell's house.

The side entrance leads you into a room where a ST offers to sell out
the Guild, and is immediately overheard and offed by another ST. Dead
ST yields the Ring of Lock Picks, (+25% lockpicking) not a bad item.
This room eventually connects to the 'fake house front' room. I'm sure
those who sided with Bodhi have found this room before but it was new
to me. BTW, I wouldn't try using the side door if you haven't
officially sided with the ST; the door is unlocked from the outside
but locked and *warded* on the inside. To leave, you have to traipse
through the main ST complex, which might tick them off a little if you
haven't picked sides yet.

I also spent some time in the Bridge district. On the first floor of
the Tanner's house I found a Shandon Gem and a potion of Regen in a
barrel opposite the door. Weird, I thought, since I'd been there
before and I'm usually pretty thorough about checking for goodies. On
the lowest level I found...surprise! A *Bone Golem*! Now I know *that*
wasn't there before!

On to the Elemental Lich house which, oddly enough, looks *exactly*
like the Tanner's house on the first floor. Maybe not so oddly, it
also has a Shandon Gem and a potion of Regen in the same barrel on the
first floor. It's *really* hard to believe that I missed both of them,
but I guess it's possible.

Lastly, I went to Saerk's (the villian of the Anomen story) house--the
really big one in the middle of the Bridge District. I was hoping for
some damning evidence to prove that Saerk had arranged for Anomen's
sister's murder, but no such luck. I did find quite a few guards, a
couple of traps, and a *lot* of gold and gems. I accidently killed the
cook and my rep dropped, so I ended up reloading and leaving the loot
behind--kinda hard for a Paladin to justify home invasion. However,
parties that are not so law abiding--and cash strapped--might want to
consider sending a thief up to the top level (there is an outside
staircase) with a potion of invis.

BTW, if anyone has a sudden inspiration on how to trigger the final
Anomen quest, I'm still open to suggestions! Otherwise, it's off to
return the Lanthorn tonight.
