I don't know what happened, but suddenly BG is opening as a window, and I
can't make it full screen. Manually changing to 640x480 isn't helping. I
play in 24 bit, and until yesterday it worked properly.

In the menu where you see "Load Game", "Save Game", etc. Look for
"Graphics" (or something like that) the there be a button called "Full
Screen", make sure it's highlighted. Good luck with the game.
