I've read in a walkthrough that The Ghosts Knights in the ruins have a magic
bow that can be stolen.
But when I try to steal it, it says that they haven't got an item for me.
is there really that special bow& how to get it ?
thanks !!!
Yes, there is. Just keep pickpocketing, repeatedly. Thief
succeeds eventually (rarely on the 1st try; might take 20+
minutes real time).

This is why you cast the spell known as 'Quick Save' before trying to
pickpocket them.
No, they never will.

Can I ask what walkthrough you're looking at? Strange how none of the
walkthroughs at gamefaqs.com have this.
Just one of them has the bow. IIRC, it is the ghost to the left of the
northern entrance to the room. If not it is the one to the right. When
I did it, Imonen got it on the second try. The ghosts won't attack so
pick away.

Why damn!
Ah, but you don't have to save and reload. No matter how many times
you fail, the ghosts will not attack you. Unlike the paper and dice
game, a thief can try again and succeed after a failed pick. A purest
might be upset by this, but there are numerous other changes (like
only 16 item slots per character) in the computer adaptation. In the
long run, this the multi-attemptability of thief skills is crucial in
later parts of the game that are particularly pick and trap intensive.
It gives thieves something to do, otherwise the spell and sword
slingers have all the fun.
BTW, the bow is a Longbow of Marksmanship and there is another
available, so you don't really have to get it if you don't have more
than one fighter-type providing bow support. That was Khalid's job in
my group, since was such a Barney Fife about being in the front ranks.
It was often the case that my back-rank missile support (Khalid,
Jaheira and Imonen) would take out the opponents before my tanks
(Minsc and my Paladin) would get in swinging range.

Alright, alright I'll stop with the questions! I just couldn't resist. Sorry.
