Hello! I have been messing around creating various characters for use in
multiplayer games and such but I cannot figure out how to delete the ones
that I don't particularly care for. Suggestions anyone? Also, if I give
Ajantis (17 str) a Tome of Strength will he have a 18/?? rating or just 18
strength?

Try deleting the file under 'characters' directory.

It isn't hard to figure this out. Why don't you just try it yourself.

There is no specific option to delete a pre-generated character. However,  you can go to the character file in your Baldur's Gate directory and delete them from Windows.  I tried that and Ajantis's Strength just goes to a straight 18 (+1 +2).  He is a fighter class character and it SHOULD go to 18/(??)  They should try and fix that with a patch, but they probably won't.  Just give the Tome to a fighter with any 18 strength to set it to 19 which is a more significant improvement then Ajantis would get. ( ie  Kivan  18/14 +1  +3 becomes 19  +3  +7) instead of Ajantis going from 17( +1 +1) to  18 ( +1  +2).  If you want Ajantis to have a good strength five him the guantlets of ogre power or buy plenty of strength potions.

Open Explorer off your desktop. Go to the directory that holds Baldur's Gate
(something like c:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\). Find the
directory marked Characters. Inside you'll see all of the files associated
with the said characters. Just delete the appropriate files and the next time
you restart BG, you'll see that they do not exist off of the interface!
And I don't know what would happen to Adjantis if you give him the book of
Strength... I suggest you use it on one of your personal characters
instead...
