BG2: Chapel Key/Windspear Hills question

In the Windspear Hills dungeon, after you fight the vampires in the one
room, there's another room off
of it that holds a key called the "Chapel Key".

Not to be confused with the "Sewer Key".
Every walkthrough I've seen mentions it but doesn't say what it opens. It
doesn't open anything in the Windspear Hills dungeon.
Does anyone know what/where this key goes to?

I test it awhile ago and IIRC, it merely open the locked door to Samia
(who will then talk to you and give you the King Stromhn quest) , if for some
stupid reason you couldn't or didn't want to lockpick it.
