I have a party at level 5/6 and have just arrived at Baldur's Gate. There is
a house in the North-West of the city with invisible stalkers, and other
nasties in it.Every time I try and kill them, my Party gets slaughtered. My
main character has got an AC of -5, yet gets hit nearly every time.Has
anybody got any tips on how to kill them and if it is worth the bother.
My Party consists of:

Me: Ranger Lvl6
Coran: Fighter/Thief Lvl 5/5
Khallid: Fighter Lvl 5
Jahiera Fighter/Cleric Lvl 5/6
Imoen Thief/Evoker Lvl 5/5
Quayle: Cleric/Illusionist Lvl 5/5

Thanks for any Help

You will need a better AC than -5 to go melee on them and win without major
difficulty. Try giving your fighters giant strength potions and use Quayle
to Animate Dead and use monster summoning wand. Ranged weapons do not help
a lot when in such a confined space, so put Coran in back so he can use his
bow more effectively. Khalid and You should be upfront fighting and
keeping the stalkers from devastating your party members with lousy ac's and
hp's. Use the summoned monsters to keep you and Khalid from being toasted.
The fight is tough, but is very beatable. I easily won without summoning
monsters, but my up-front characters had much better AC's than -5 at this
point of the game. You really need at least two "tanks" to just fight your
way through this one.

This method may be long, drawn out and a bit "cheesy" but here's what I did:
I equipped Coran with the Gauntlets of Ogre Power, Boots of Speed and the
Vascona long sword and stealthed him. Once I entered the house, I sprinted
into the room with the mage in it and stealthed again. Then I backstabbed
an enemy and sprinted out the house. Repeat ad nauseum until the Doom
Guards and Helmed Horrors are wasted. Then the entire party entered the
house to take on the Invisible Stalkers. Imoen cast Detect Invisibility and
the stalkers became visible. The party made short work of them!

One of the most challenging (and enjoybale) fights in this game!
Make use of summonings to protect your party on ranged weapons.

Just beware that helmed horrors and doom guards don't take physical
damage from missiles, so don't waste your arrows+2 on them. Focus on
acid arrows (2-12 acid dmg) and arrows of ice (1-6 cold dmg) that don't
allow saving throws.

Wand damages will be mostly halved but Heavens (8-48), Frost (8-48),
Fire (Ag.Scorch 12-42) will come in handy. Magic missiles from lvl-5
mages will deliver full 6-15 dmg, no saves.

Backstabbing also helps if your thieves can find some spots to stealth
in.

Hope this helps a bit. Enjoy the fight!

Try this... get your thief (don't walk in with your whole party),
boots of speed, haste spell, wand of lightening.

Sneak in, shoot, get out of the way, let the beam bounces. get out.
Repeat.

It works wonder.

I killed a whole whack of greater dopplermanger, Helmed Horrors,
Invisible stalkers, Mages ... that way. No injury except being
stupid to get into the lightening.

Use potions of Absorption to protect yourself from the lightening.

A *thief* using a wand of lightning? Hmm... :)

Besides, the haste spell won't speed up his wand firing and doesn't
actually help anything once he/she's got the boots of speed.

My tactic was to use my fighter/mage to enter with Ghost Armor, Invisibility,
and Mirror Image. He was equipped with a wand of Monster Summoning and a wand
of Paralyzation not to mention loaded up on Chromatic Orbs. Monsters kept the
enemies away while the ChromOrb stunned everything I hit... mage didn't even
lose a single HP... only used two charges in the wand of MS and one in the wand
of P...
