No, you don't need to find Montaron's body -- the Xzar quest is
done. The door to the Harper Hold will only be accessible once the
next Harper quest is triggered.
Jaheira needs to be called away by a Harper messenger, Meronia,
to set up this next quest; this will happen after a bandit attack
after you rest in the wilderness. Just go back to Windspear (or any
other rural areas like the Druid Grove or Umar Hills) and rest
_outside_, not in the dungeon or the cabin. (Once J gets called away,
rest one more time and she'll return to the party to take you back to
the Harper Hold to meet Galvarey.)

You're telling me that J gets called away by Meronia, then comes
back to take you to meet Galvarey, and you still can't get into the
hold? I don't recall anyone ever having that problem; are you sure
you've encountered all the triggers and went to the right building (SW
of the dock district)? (I'd also be willing to take a look at your
saved game at this point.)

Thanks Ht that did the trick went outside rested, bandits appeared. Took care

DANGER WILL ROBINSON! DANGER!!!
<some slight spoilers>
After clearing our the Harper hold after your little witch trial, the
next event in the harper thread will involve you being attacked by some
harpers. They won't do this while you're away at Spellhold, but with
the original Jaheria romance script they will attack you as soon as you
get back. The problem is, if they attack you on that screen, everyone
there turns hostile including a major NPC that you need to keep friendly
to move onto the next chapter.
You can download a third party patch that fixes this problem (and
several other things with the Jaheira romance) at

"I've been asked what I mean by word of honor. I will tell you. Place
me behind prison walls - walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick,
reaching ever so far into the ground - there is a possibility that in
some way or another I may escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a
chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross
it. Can I get out of the circle? No. Never! I'd die first!"

You're welcome. Note that further on a key event and a crucial
dialog in this romance will also need to be triggered by a wilderness
rest. Take J camping when you get back to the surface from Spellhold
and the Underdark.:) (And Todd Rogers' caution about a potential
show-stopping bug and downloading the patch at the Baldurdash site in
another post is good advice.)
