Hope there are any clues,
Harty
Funnily enough, I recently started a new game and just battled
Demogorgon again last night. It was far easier this time with a more
powerful cast of NPC's along with my Sorcerer PC.
I fought it twice last night and both were won very easily.
In the first encounter i was looting the Vigil Knights bodies and
mistakenly awakened him, forgetting that you don't have to talk to him
to awaken him to fight, and without any summons or buffs was still able
to beat him.
Here was the key: Spellstrike
I never used this in my other game 2 years ago. My casters then were
Aerie, Imoen and Nalia and my high level spells were some mix of
Timestops and Planetars. But this time around, with a sorcerer and Edwin
I have 9th level spells to burn. The combination of Timestop, Improved
Alacrity, Dragons Breath and Spellstrike make the game a walkover.
But anyway, if you have access to Spellstrike here's my advice:
Summon a Planetar and 2 Mordys swords and place them near where Demo
appears and also next to where his Mariliths appear in any way you want
really.Heck don't even worry about placing them strategically even, if
they're hasted(which they should be) they're plenty quick enough to
move over and distract them in any event. Now when Demogorgon appears,
waste no time in casting Spellstrike targeting him, as soon as the
spell is about to go off or is in the air, pause the game, and have a
second mage cast Breach.
As long as Spellstrike hits first Demogotgon will be very vulnerable.
When you realize that both spells will be successfully cast and will
hit in the correct order, pause again and give your fighters the
Greater Whirlwind ability. If for some reason none of your fighters
have this, then cast Improved Haste on at least 2 of them right before,
and take off the Boots of Speed (they interfere I'm told).
Well I hope Ive covered most possible eventualities.
In summary:
Summon fodder
Haste
Place summons in pit
activate demogorgon
Spellstrike and Breach
Greater Whirlwind or Improved Haste him into bits in 2 rounds or so
