He's a farmer. He lives just north of Friendly Arm Inn.

Best regards, Jacob

brun is the farmer north of the friendly arm...he lost his son....you cant
revive him so just return him and get some xp....also if you take off a load of
gold to brun i think you gain a rep point....

I think I got some extra experience points for giving Brun $500. I had the
money so it was worth it.

$500, I wasn't aware that American Bankers had infiltrated the Forgotten
Realms.......
I am a bit upset that certain aspects of the game like Food rations, Horses
and currencies(silver, platinum and copper pieces too)
Perhaps I am asking too much!

I'm assuming you are upset that they got left out. Horses, I don't know
about. I think they could unbalance gameplay significantly. Food, well
frankly I'm glad that got left out because food is usually just something
tedious to deal with in these types of games.

I'm a bit suspicious of the money system though. I mean really... we are
hauling around 10-50k of coins here. In gold box they did it right. they
made you PAY if you wanted to carry a lot of cash around. I think
copper/silver etc was a good idea too. Everything should not be as easy as
finding gold/platinum. After all... It's one thing to find a stash of 50000
cp... Another to transport it out. (and usually not worth it... what is
that, 250 gold, 50 platinum?)

In AD&D I had a 10th level group that went on dragon hunts and often came
back with 1000's of Gp's. We even got mugged a few times(well they tried,
and failed)
This became a habit and we even lost a 5,000 gp gem bag to some bandits who
ransacked us at night. We were high visible nobles as far as the thiefs were
concerned. So we did something very remarkable. we set up the adventures
National Bank(ANB)
Even after I retired my fighter and he took his place on the throne of the
Keldos Kingdom I started bringing up my mage. I soon found that my DM(at
that time my old German teacher at school) had set up franchises of this
bank everywhere charging players for keeping their gold

It is a good idea and I would love to see a bank in the next BG instalment

And who keeps a stash of 50000 coppers? That's just bad DM'ing. Players
should vote with their feet.

I don't think horses are a bad idea for the next installment. Fallout2
works pretty well w/ cars... You'd just check your horses at each town, and
all it does is shorten travel times.

I agree that food would just be tedious. What would be next? Bathroom
breaks? I can see it now, walking around, and then a little toilet logo
would show up on Minsc's picture and you'd hear him say "Full steel, and I'm
packing my plate.. " =)

Specifically, it was some dragon hoard ... I think it may have been Secret
of the silver blades.

Why exactly is it bad DMing? Obviously we couldn't transport it out because
10 coins = 1 pound in that system. We aren't carrying 5000 pounds of copper
around I can promise you.

That, and the whole thing adds up to about 250 gold. I really don't think
that's too much for a dragon hoard.
