If you kill first all wolves and then the bear you should be transported
to the next level. Otherwise you are stuck.

Here's how to:
Open the file Baldur.ini in your BG directory. Under the [Game Options]
heading, put Cheats=1 (case sensitive). Then save the file and run the game.
Once in the game, hit ctrl-tab to bring up the console in which you type the
cheats. Ctrl-tab will also close this console. Type in the cheat exactly as
itappears below and hit the [Enter] key to activate.
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR0506")
If have no idea if this really works. If you try it, please let us know what
happens!

I'm not sure if it needs to be done but did you also kill wyverns, skeletons,
ghouls (or ghasts) and those invisible dudes in same place as ghouls/ghasts?
Did you actually kill slime so that it didn't just duplicate? (though it didn't
matter last time I played but anyway...)
There's always autosave that is made between floors (IIRC)
I don't think you can turn flames off but I often use haste-spell
