Safana? Is she any good?

I had her for a while.
If you don't have a thief in your party at the moment then she is useful
for a short while until you meet Coran.
Personally i can't stand bards as they are not as powerful as in proper
AD+D.

I think she's a great thief. Espescially because she has specialiced in Find
traps & Open locks, the two most important late-game abilities. After all,
rangers can stealth and pick-pocket is not very useful later in the game.

She has an interesting personality and good looks, but she is the weakest
thief in the game. Imoen and Skie have higher dexterity, which gives an extra
+20 to their skills. Montaron get an extra +30 in racial bonus, so he will be
a better thief than Safana even though he is one level behind. Coran and
Alora are both superior to Safana (but none of them can detect traps). It is
probably a good idea to keep Garrick, at least for a while. His identifying
abilty will save you a lot of money, which is important in the early and
mid-game.

She's also annoying. If you have rep higher than 18, she starts bitching
about how "this party needs new leadership", and every once in a while she
complains about her pirate ship.. I told her to blow me, I'm not going near
those damn sirines.
