Enter a house just inside the Friendly Arm wall, to the left. The door
faces east.
Check out the houses in the Friendly Arms compound.

Nope.
SPOILER AHEAD
The *only* necessary quests are:
* Get the 2nd letter from the chest in the room where Mulahey is, at
the bottom of the Nashkel mines.
* Get the 2nd letter from the chest in the main tent in the bandit camp.
* Flood the mines.
* Get the incriminating letters from the Iron Throne and see Duke Eltan
* Go to the top storey of the library in Candlekeep and get arrested.
* Confront Sarevok
* Kill Sarevok
The rest is scenery. You will bump into some quests and happenings
that will be hard NOT to solve, but they shouldn't be necessary. For
example, it should be possible to run away immediately when you see
Elminster, so he won't tell you about your heritage. And kill Scar
when he first approaches you on the bridge (he's *tough*).
