Help with Ducal Palace battle

in the heck am I to defeat all the dopplegangers and protect Liia and
Belt. This battle is a toughie.
Any suggestions?

Let Dynaheir cast Otiluke´s Resilient Sphere on one of the Dukes.
I have also managed this battle by summoning a lot of critters between
the Dukes and the Doppelgangers. Then concentrate your firepower (acid
arrows (Minsc, Khalid, Imoen), Wands of Ice, Fire (the Scorcher ability)
(Dynaheir) and the Heavens (Jaheira)) on the doppelganger that at the
moment looks most dangerous for the dukes. And, yes, Haste helps a lot
(as always...)

If it's a tough battle that what you'll
say when you'll see the battle in Undercity
before killing Sarevok ? ;)

have to protect both of them. Only one has to live. I'm not sure if it
matters, I always managed to save Belt and everything continued on as it

It is only available in TSC. Then Sorcerous Sundries has it, and you can
pickpocket a scroll from Shandalar, too.

(and I could have sworn one of the dukes was still alive.)
Why do I get killed with one shot out of the sky? Is there something I
haven't done yet?

I think Belt is the vital one to save. I've done that part a couple of
times, and it's always Belt who teleports my party over to the thieve's
guild after Mr.S disappears. That said, I've never let either Duke die, so
I couldn't be sure. My tactics, FWIW, involved summoned monsters and a few
NPC's forming a human shield around the Dukes, and charming the FF there to
replenish the wall when it got weakened. Then give Minsc the bastard sword
+3 vs shapeshifters and watch him go.

Today I came back from the Durlag's Tower (at last)
and I've problems with killing these all cult
wizards. They always kill someone of my group :(

Easily, and with minimal damage; align the party at the SE end
of the room, no talking to anybody. Then
1. "Dope" up your party (whatever favorite spells, potions,
etc).
2. Gulp potion of freedom(sp), all.
3. Haste the whole party.
4. Cast Grease (pig) near Belt (as you have him at the edge of
the fog.
5. Send you "tank" (preferably with speed boot) to start
conversation with Belt.
6. (optional) Cast Web at the same spot as you did Grease.
7. As the fun begins (wait 'till all 6 Doopl's go "red"), tank
attacks monsters near the pair of dukes, the rest uses ranged
weapons.
Note: The monsters change directions -- use pause to see which
duke needs help.

the fore and plenty of Wand of the Heavens doses will do the
trick quick smart. Breakup your party and lead the gangers away
from the Dukes. Don't be stingy with your ordinance. Whoever
ends up standing beside Sarevok may well be in need of magic
sustenence.
Has anyone ever tried walking to the Thieves Guild if the Dukes
don't make it?

I don't know if that is possible... every time all the Dukes die, they
kill my main character almost instantly with that incredible
wand-of-the-heavens wanne bolt from the sky....and of course the game
is over.
The real question is: Has anyone SURVIVED AFTER allowing all the Dukes
to eat it?
