put the line
SET FX_GLIDE_SWAPINTERVAL=2
in the batchfile that calls d2_3dfx.
This will limit your framerate to 30 (or 37.5 depending on your
refresh rate), which should help you out.

Is there a patch out there that makes the normal Descent 2 - 3Dfx
accelerated?

Sorry folks, the voodoo versions are 640x480 ONLY! You can reduce the
bounce some by limiting frame rate with the SWAP variable. (I am at
work and don't have all the info in front of me. Check www.descent2.com
for the voodoo SET variables.

Sadly, you can't change the resolution of any Voodoo-enhanced version
of D2. It only supports 640x480. :-(
There are other ways to reduce your framerate, which should help with
the bobbing. Here are a couple of "set" commands I use that limit my
framerate to 42.5 fps:
Set SST_SCREENREFRESH=85
Set FX_GLIDE_SWAPINTERVAL=2
I think you said you have Voodoo2, so you may have to change SST to
SSTV2 in the first command. (Not sure, since I don't have a Voodoo2
at the moment.)
BTW, I do this to keep the mouse responsive enough to use.
Hope this helps.

I downloaded it about 6 months ago from ftp.cdrom.com for my Monster 1, I
don't know if it's still there or not.
