REPUBLICANS TAKE SENATE
WASHINGTON, DC (ADMS) - In the American midterm elections, the Republicans
have taken control of the United States Senate. Could this mean even more
attacks on freedom by the Religious Right, who practically controls the party.
The result of the elections is that the Republicans now have complete
control of the United States Government. By our projections, here at The
Demonizer, the Republicans will take the senate by 2 seats. Republican
victories in Georgia, Minnesota, and Missourie (spelling?), will give them
a net gain of 2 seats. It would have been three seats, but one Republican seat
in Arkansas went to the democrats.
The new makeup of the Senate, by our calculations, will be 51 Republican,
48 Democrats, and one Independent. This will make Trenton Lott (R-Alabama)
the house speaker, once again.
The Religious Right does pretty much control the party. Despite the fact
that two ultra-draconian internet censorship measures were thrown out by the
U.S. supreme court, they will probably try again. They also have the ability
to change the courts now. In March, the Hyde-Blyley Act was thrown out on a
6-3 vote. Had the law been upheld by the court, one person on here who uses
profanity on alt.skate.figure would have been subject to prosecution in the
United States, as the law would have allowed prosecution of any material
banned under the law, regadless of what country it originated from.
RYDER FOUND INNOCENT ON MOST SERIOUS FELONY CHARGE
HOLLYWOOD, California (ADMS) - The American actress Wynona Ryder has been
found innocent on the most serious felony charge of commercial burglary.
Ryder was found guilty on the other two charges of grand theft and vandalism.
The fact the Ryder was found innocent on the most serious felony charge
shows how the American justice system is for the rich. Ever since the 17 year
economic boom from 1984 to 2001, the rich have virtually gotten off for their
crimes. It would not be surprising to see Ryder get probation.
The list of famous rich people that have practically gotten off with nothing
for their crimes is quite long. Some of other well-known rich and/or famous
people who have gotten the proverbial slap-on-the-wrist include:
Orenthal "OJ" Simpson DOB: 26 October 1946 San Francisco, California
Beat the rap on a double muder charge back in 1995. The verdicts were quite
a surprise.
Nicole Jane Bobeck DOB: 24 December 1975 Launceston, Tasmania, Australia
Charged in 1995 with breaking and entering a home in Shermer, Illinois.
The charges were later dismissed on a technicality. Bobeck represented both
U.S. and Australian teams during her figure skating career
Jose Mesa DOB: 14 February 1955 Hermosillo, Mexico
Baseball player accused of rape in 1998, acquitted on all charges.
Tonya Maxine Harding DOB: 16 November 1970 Queenstown, Tasmania, Australia
Accused on the plot to whack Nancy Kerrigan at the 1994 North American
Championships. Was allowed to plead guilty to a single charge to avoid more
serious charges. Comes from rich Tasmanian family. Joined U.S. team in 1993,
1994 North American title stripped and given to Michelle Kwan.
Oksana Sergeyevna Baiul DOB: 4 July 1977 Archangelsk, Russia
Arrested for drunken driving in 1997. Allowed to plea bagain to avoid
more serious charges. Baiul won the gold medal for Russia at the 1994 Olympics
Jennifer Capriati DOB: 27 March 1976 Surfers Paradise, Queensland
Busted in Florida for drug possession in 1994. Allowed to plead guilty
to lesser charges to avoid more serious charges which could have resulted in
deportation from the United States. Capriati won the gold medal for Australia
in tennis at the 1992 Olympics.
