Actually, you have done a very good job of stating the obvious. I wonder,
though, if you might not have been on safer ground by suggesting that
the "Profane" just pick up a copy of "Duncan's Ritual of Freemasonry."
There are only "secrets" in Masonry to those who choose to make them
such.
Remember, the argument against the Masonic oaths (obligations) has
always been the so-called punishments given to offenders. This is an
understandable problem when the Mason remembers that most people
will only look at things superficially. We understand them as symbolic
and poetic metaphors... but to the outsider, yikes!
