Anti-masonry, paranoia, and co-dependency

courses ( a long time ago), and it dawned on me that what we are seeing here
with Ray, Hate, Vomit, and True is a co-dependency problem. They seem to
demonstrate all the classic symptons of addictive behavior (with paranoia
thrown in).
If so, then the rest of us might be acting as enablers, whenever we answer a
post. We're giving them what they want, you see. They're getting off on posting
these ridiculous accusations, and like lemmings headed to the edge we all post
our reactions, which is what they really want.
OTOH, we don't want them to perpetuate their delusions either, as some poor
unsuspecting seeker might come in and believe what they read. The problem is if
we keep reacting (enabling) then the problem is just going to get worse, and
the poor anti's will just get sicker and sicker. They need help. But what to
do. Any ideas?

I have come to the same conclusions myself, not only here, but in regard
to most flamers on any newsgroup. These folks are like kids throwing a
tantrum. They do it for the attention. Sometimes its hard to NOT react,
especially when one sees the folly and want to respond in like folly.
But your are right. Its best to let sleeping dogs lie (and lying dogs
sleep)

Some of us (yes, I am one of them) are trying to understand masonry but have a
hard time. Some of us have been badly hurt by masons and have a hard time
deciding how much was masonry and how much was the person/people who hurt us.

As said here many many times, no one person speaks for or acts for Masonry.
You must realize that we are talking about more than 4 million worldwide
members. We don't burn churches because one clergyman turns out to be a
child molester. We don't advocate anarchy just because one or two
politicians may tell a lie now and then ( well maybe more than one or two).
The only reason to come into Masonry is because you have investigated it and
think it is something that you agree with in principle.

whenever one of the anti-masons posts anything at all, all the masons on the NG
will ignore it.
Just as if if wasn't there. Go on discussing whatever is being discussed in a
given topic, but when one of the anti's posts, we just ignore it. I know those
that have kill-file ability are already doing this. There are those of us on
AOL that cannot. So, no matter how stupid, how ignorant, how inflammatory,
racist, whatever, we'll just ignore it. Pretend they don't exist.
My feeling is they will probably just go away, or flame each other.

The worst punishment one can mete out to the Anti-Masons is to ignore
them. If Masons do not reply then the Anti's have only each other to
talk to. That would bore them to death. Two famous Anti Masons who
banned Masonry during their terms in power were Adolph Hitler and Josef
Stalin. I don't care to discuss matters with their followers.
