Oh my gawd, Norma! The stupidity is embarrassing around here.
Eternal September is a free news server (NSP) based in Germany and
administered by one Ray Banana (nic). I used to be called Motzarella until
I, Gregory Hall, outed some very unethical activities by the admin so he
changed the name to avoid bad press because his subscribers were deserting
in droves because they no longer trusted their privacy would be protected.
Recently, Banana shut down any feeds from Highwinds media because of a
sporge coming from there. Many many legit postings are fed into the Usenet
server network from Highwinds media so many of you who tried to post to
Eternal September could not connect.
If you want to read a discussion about it subscribe to
<alt.free.newsservers>
I hope this helps.

So people couldn't connect to Eternal September because it was refusing
feeds from Highwinds. Do you really think that's how Usenet works?
No, but one must explain things in a very simplified manner to folks who
think eternal september is a newsgroup.

Thank God, he's still whining. I was afraid he was seriously ill.

Actually, people weren't able to connect to the server because the
server had rejected articles from Highwinds one day earlier. That's the
Gospel according to Gweggie. OTOH, I expected him (or Mr. Mouch's skilled
h4x0|2z) to assume responsibility for the DDOS attack on
Eternal-Septemeber.

DDOS my aching ass. You admitted elsewhere that you have crap Chinese memory
modules that are overheating and causing a hang. Reboots are the remedied
but only for a little while. I don't think a DDOS attack has those symptoms.
But, a Trojan, OTOH, BWahahhahahhahhhahahahha.

What REALLY happened was Ray Banana was indisposed. He had to take care of
some dire developments concerning his grandfather:
By DAVID RISING (AP) - 9 hours ago
BERLIN - Former SS sergeant Adolf Storms lived in Germany unnoticed
for more than six decades after World War II until an Austrian
university student last year came across his name while researching a
1945 massacre of Jewish forced laborers.
The student gave the information to state prosecutors near Storms'
hometown of Duisburg, and they have now filed charges against the
90-year-old on 58 counts of murder for the killings near the Austrian
village of Deutsch Schuetzen, a German court said.
"On March 29, 1945, the accused and his accomplices brought at least
57 Jewish forced laborers in several groups to a nearby forest area,
where they had to give up their valuables and kneel by a grave," the
court said in a statement. "The accused and other SS members then
cruelly shot the Jewish forced-laborers from behind." ...
