Can anyone tell a newbie to Painter how to make a brush stroke like
one would get using a good watercolor brush with a nice point on it?
For example I often use my W&N #7 to make leaves by just laying it
down and dragging slightly. I get a nice leaf shape with a point at
the tip.Is it possible to do this with Painter? If so I'd very much
appreciate detailed instructions. Thanks.

You should be able to do that by linking the brush width to pen pressure
and making it very sensitive. The stroke will be different from what
you do now but it may get you in the ballpark.
